  1. Hello

I'm trying to start a jewelry company and would like some feedback

All of the following are handmade from found materials. I have a more formulated purpose in the form of a cover letter if anyone would like to read it.

I need pricing help and any general feedback

I'd like to sell my products to boutiques in the new york area, but would be open to transactions in any city.

    Detailed close-ups are also available.

I apologize if this thread is in the wrong place, but I'm relatively new and this looked like the best place to post..

    ok

  2. These are essentially new without tags. Been hanging in the closet for a year or so..

I haven't worn them, but pulled the tags off out of habit..

the iSight camera blows, but BostonWardrobe has my camera... so my apologies for the crappy shot. i should also invest in a clamp lamp.. awful 19th century light fixtures in odd places.

  4. I went to a super preppy catholic high school with a "dress code". In short, it looked like a J.crew catalogue. Seriously, the "best dressed" self-proclaimed popular crowd wore (basically- not counting the north face fleece and longchamp tote) all j. crew clothing.

It was quite unimaginative. Also, since it was in Connecticut, fashion did not penetrate state borders.

I don't think we had a best dressed person in the yearbook superlatives. but if we did, the male winner probably wore these regularly:

a reason why i will never go back, those pants scare me.

Post script: I was a tech-theater geek in high school. I wore big baggy pants with chains attached, baggy black hoodies, thick black eyeliner, died pink streaks in my hair, and usually ripped or burned holes in every shirt i owned on purpose.

now i still wear all black, and sometimes rip or burn holes in my clothes by accident, because they cost more.. and because i sometimes worship them...

at least my pants fit me now.

  5. Stumbled on Sien when in Antwerp with my cousin in route to the Ann Demeulemeester store..

We saw the perfect dress for her wedding reception, and decided to go in. The store layout is fresh and smart, and inventory is amazingly beautiful. The store carries women's apparel (and a great number of elegant dresses)--- all very tasteful but not boring. The dress my cousin bought is pictured below. It was made (I believe) by hand by a recent graduate of the fashion institute and was featured in her winter show.

The store had recently opened when we found it in early January 2008. It's owned and run by a very friendly and knowledgeable mother and daughter. Pop in if you're on your way to the Yamamoto or Ann store, if only to have a look at the beautiful clothing and decor.

there website is below also, if you'd like to see what designers they carry and so on

  6. If you don't mind me asking, how did you go about doing this? Ann's been an inspiration of mine for some time now and it would nice if she could read how much I appreciate both her and her work.

I wrote to the info email address on ann's webpage and asked for an address her fanmail. I was happy to get a response at all, too. mostly wanted to frame her autograph. it was really sweet of her to send me things, i didn't expect that... did a little dance around my apartment and called my mother.

i also wrote to david sedaris, didn't hear back from him yet though.

  7. Emily, considering the perverse nature of the users of this site, I would strongly advise you to remove photographs explaining your whereabouts, particularly if you plan on posting a picture of yourself in WAYWT.

Enjoy the rep ye shall receive, regardless of what you post.

    love these especially..

    plz tell me you're a size 7.5..

I'm a size 8 most of the time, but these were a size 6 or 36 i think. but i think they were a men's 6, or ran big because they fit after some considerable breaking in and copious blisters.

thanks for the heads up. I didn't think to blur out the address, guess I assumed it wasn't visible. anyway, cheers.
