  1. ^I'm taking a look, now...thanks for that. Nice selection..and their prices are slightly better than i've seen.

edit....my mistake..same price. Still, good to know of the store.

  2. I'm looking at getting a pair of Hawaii's...I've done a few searches and maybe i'm not looking in the right place.

I've never ordered from Rakuten before.....are there any stores that are more reliable than others?...any I should avoid.

I hope i'm not out of line for asking.

    Thanks.

  3. ^more good advice!..thank you. I'm not that worried about the waist or thighs, but Gordon hemmed them to 34.5". I'm a little worried about the length. I wanted the no longer than 32" after it's all done. He said I can always mail the back to be hemmed some more if they are too long for my liking.

  4. So, I purchased a couple of firsts on Saturday...First pair of Sammys and First pair of raws. I decided that these were interesting 17oz LTD ED S5000GX-K Wind Element Model

Picked them up from BIG. I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with the or the other Element Models? I plan on doing a hot soak and hang dry. Do you think that would be sufficient or should I toss them in the dryer? Thanks for any advice/input!!

  5. I'm sure this has been brought up...but, this thread is so huge!....I have a Corter bi-fold..had it for about 9 months. One side is blue/black and the other side is a nice yellow/orangish color. The darker side is obviously indigo. I'm not unfamiliar with the effect, but i cannot get it to come off/out. I had this wallet in my back pocket of some Lee's that i picked up for work so i sweated quite a bit. I've tried saddle soap and sponge. Is there any other product or technique that i can try to get the back side to look at great as the front?

    Thanks!

  6. they will not shrink. if you're worried about matching up your combs then wear the jeans while they're damp after the wash/soak.

Yeah, that is what i was worried about. Thanks for the advice!

  7. o/w = one wash = washed once, i.e. pre-shrunk. o/w canes do not shrink.

I read this, but wanted to get some personal experience input. Thank you!! I'm not anywhere near close to a soak or wash, but good to know. So my combs should match back up after a soad or wash then?

I have the rainbow selvedge oki's, pretty much the same as reg oki's and they DO shrink, even though o/w.

The shrinkage is very very minimal, however...for example my waist shrunk like .15 of an inch [i did exact measurements according to the BiG website]

The fading is fucking phenominal, My last pair of jeans were ironhearts, and they are a polished finished product, where as my okis are rough slubby and sooo easy going. Love them to death. I've heard that canes hang onto indigo fairly well, but at 1.5 months mine are already starting to honeycomb and Whisker. If you were your canes skin tight, then they will fade beautifully. A lot of people wear canes for the anti-fit, but I chose then because I have very muscular thighs (From years of Taekwondo and now Muay Thai kickboxing). For others that have the same physique as me, canes are pretty dang perfect. My canes, look wise, will have perfectly normal combs and I feel fortunate enough to be able to produce them

pics please! I've had mine for about the same time as yours, but not fading as of yet. of course, i can only wear mine after work.

  8. I know that this is a noobie question, but I've not had any sugar canes before the Okis that I bought and started wearing just over a month ago...

When you soak, do they shrink at all(mine are o/w)? I would assume so...about how much? If they shrink, do you just stretch them back out(inseam)?

  9. how long do you all leave your leather pieces out when you sun tan them?

as long as it takes to get to the color you are aiming for. my last wallet, i tanned for about three days...roughly 20 hours.

I saw some Japanese stores are selling Lexol and expensive as well.

What do they use for? I have bunch of Lexols that are used for car detailing.

Lexol has many products, but the one used mainly for wallets is a leather conditioner.
