re: shorts.. I tried the TAD AC cargo shorts and the RS shorts they have and was not impressed with the fit. It's probably because I wear my pants and shorts lower than waist level but I felt quite restricted in movement. I used to rely on Outlier shorts for travel but I gotta admit that I hate swimming in them. I would much rather pack an actual pair of swim trunks than those if I planned on doing a bunch of swimming or surfing. This goes both for their Three Ways and for their New Ways. I like them overall but I hate how they are in water. They are more for spontaneous swims than planned excursions IMO.
Did we ever land anywhere on good hats for hiking/travel? I usually just bring a beat up Supreme camp cap when I travel because I don't need to worry about the hat getting fucked when I pack it (besides the bill). Looking for something similar that I can wear on a hike, at the beach, and also in a city setting.
BTW, picked this bag up for $60 to use as a daypack/bookbag and like it a lot so far.

What size/colour?
L/Black
I just can't get behind these things. The color is off and I don't really care for any of the details such as the cinch cargo pockets, ankle zips, nor the waist button. Also hate the fact that these are not substantial whatsoever. As Rashad (RIP) would say:

I'm going on a trip to central america and plan on doing some light trekking through jungles, canyoning, spelunking, etc. I wore these old nike free havens everywhere during my last trip and they were perfect. The plastic upper made them more durable compared to fabric/mesh, plus gave the shoe the added benefit of light water resistance. Sadly, these shoes were destroyed by the end of my trip and they don't make em anymore so I'm lookin for something else. Any recs?

on a footwear note, been rockin the tubulars (poor man's qasa) a lot. I like the neoprene upper and while I dig the sole aesthetically, it kills my feet. Really wish they'd release it w a different sole that has a similar profile

Tried so hard to justify keeping the mojave bc I liked the fabric but I ended up returning it bc of the fit. I always end up returning or selling every outlier shirt I buy -- with the exception of the merino t-shirts, their shirts always have a boxy and just shit fit in general. Too short where i could use more length and too long elsewhere.

In Chicago atm and stopped by the ministry of supply pop up. As a dude with bigger thighs, I was really stoked after trying on the regular fit Aviator chinos. They fit similar to nyco slims but with a dryskin-like fabric. Can't comment on water repellancy but the 4 way stretch was great. At half the price of outlier, I'd def recommend them. Tried on the slim fit version and dug those too since they had a nice taper goin on but they were a little tight overall imo. Talked to the founder and she said that all pants come w a standard long inseam, but you can get em tailored and they'll reimburse the cost. Thinking of getting the regular fit and tapering to my liking so I can get something in between those fits. Was cool to see this shit before buying bc I was on the fence before, having only seen their kickstarter a couple years back.
