I know its early and they aren't exactly the same thing, but wondering if anyone could post some comparisons of that Wolverine 1000 Miles boot and something like the Alden AF53?

In my pocket...general rule that I won't wear jeans, or any pants for that matter, that I can't get stuff in and out of the pockets....the keys on a belt loop/hook thing just seems noisy and annoying, not to mention a good way to have someone yank your keys (unless you're into that sorta thing )

I soaked my S5000VXs once in the tub, and then put them through a hot wash cycle...used our fancy cabinet dryer on them as well...they shrank down pretty good, but I'm wondering if I should wash them again before having the inseam shortened? They measure right around 36" now, so I'm guessing they won't shrink much more.

2nd was fast! I got notice that they were being shipped on the 16th, they hit USPS on the 17th and I picked them up from the PO today. Dayum. Now I've got a nice new pair of S5000vx in 32x36, which already feel like they'll fit perfectly (based on putting them on raw). They included that nifty Samurai/2nd mouse pad as well.

I was stuck at work so would have missed the SE sale anyhow

I have been searching for the right size of Samurai S5000vx...think I finally know what'd work....but am also thinking of getting a pair of Sugarcane 1947s. With the Self Edge 17% discount right now, it makes the Canes pretty tempting.

So...hold out for a new pair of Sams from 2nd, or Canes from SE?

I recently bought these Samurais from another member here. They are from Lot 9 and are pretty much unworn. I only tried them on and realized that they are a size too big.

Measurements are:

waist - 16"

front rise - 10.5"

back rise - 13.5"

inseam - 36"

leg opening - 8.75"

thigh - 12"

I will post pics today. They are still quite stiff, and in great shape. Asking $230 shipped in the US. A bit more for international, but we can work that out. I'd be willing to trade for a pair of S5000vxs from Lot 10 in 32, or a Lot 9 in 31.

click on the 5000vx link on the first page. i ordered my 5000's from 2nd, lot 10, and post wash, the measurements came out similar to those listed on sam's website.

So their site says "washed" 81 - 85 cm...they mean they start at 85cm and shrink to 81?

lot 10 = some fucked up sizing issues that were smaller than lot 9 sizing.

based on what you said it makes sense your lot 9 stuff was bigger than your lot 10 stuff.

Thanks, guess I'll try the new ones a bit and see if they work out. My worry is that if they fit fine now they'll end up stretching out and being too big. I seem to be hitting either on the too small side or too big side of the actual damn jeans I need

Mine are Lot 10 and I sized down 1 due to stretching...not sure if that helps or not.

Thanks, doesn't help too much. I originally got a pair of Lot 10 in 30, hoping they'd stretch a couple sizes. I then got a pair of Lot 9 in 30, that I was told was more like a 31 in a Lot 10 (confused yet :confused:)...those were too tight as well and didn't stretch enough.

Now I got a pair of 32s, but they turned out to be Lot 9...so are they really more like a 33 in Lot 10? They measure 16" already, so look like 32s, but do the Lot 10 in 32 measure 31 after they are soaked?

Wondering if anyone can tell me the difference in sizing between Lot 9 and Lot 10 S5000VX? I'm a bit confused as I thought the Lot 9s were supposedly a size smaller than tagged or something...

Don't know how you guys usually do it...but I wash mine with 400 babies, in Powerthirst!

Back on the hunt for the correct size of Samurais! I think I've finally narrowed it down, I need 32s. Anyone have S5000VXs in 32 waist - hemmed no shorter than 32" (or no hem at all)?

Just wanted to share with you guys first...the Ultimate Indys are in. I think they came out great.

Ok, after reading through both of the Samurai threads numerous times I just gotta ask some sizing questions. I have been trying to get the correct size S5000's for a while now. I started with some size 30s (most of my jeans meaure out to 16.5" in the waist), they were fine in the waist, but really tight in the thighs.

Then I went to a pair of lot 9's in 30...the waist again is fine, but the lap is really really tight. I've tried stretching them out, but they seem to have hit that terminal stretch velocity (they won't stretch any more).

I'm thinking of going for a size 32, but the only thing that is holding me back is that all my jeans are 32s, and I had read that I should size down in the S5000. If I got with the 32 I'm a bit worried that they will be too big when they stretch...hip flair and all that.

Any advice? The measurements look similar between the 30-31-32...but with the 32s just look too baggy?
