  1. Samaurais have been worn over 5 years and going strong. Evisus are sturdy, albeit a bit thinner but fade quicker. Just started consistently wearing my flatheads but I tend to go back to the Samauris out of habit and comfort. Evisus fit was a bit more relaxed as well (#2)

Been wearing scrubs the last 4 years so my rotation doesn't get as much wear anymore. My two favorites.:

    1) samurai 0500 have had them for about 6 years

    2) MIJ Evisu I think #2 but I'm not sure of that or the lot since the tag has faded over time the 5+ years I've had them

  2. sup guys anyone with experience with no2 shrinkige, is it really as b.i.g states 1.5 in the length?

I just bought a pair about a month ago (2000 #2) and there wasn't much shrinkage. I soaked mine in hot water then seeing how it didn't shrink much i washed them in hot water and dried them in a dryer for a bit. The shrinking was still a bit less then BIG

  3. I ordered from GMMStore, they're very helpful and their english is excellent.

If you buy a pair of blank pocket ones they'll hand paint for you, any color you like. You can even do different colors on each pocket as I did. I _believe_ they will do chainstitching (it's on the order form) but I didnt get that because I am tall.

I've only heard of a handful of people paying import duty on private (non-commercial) imports into the US. I've probably received 200 packages from japan in my life and not a single one was ever charged duty, even one declared at $750 and not as a gift.

I dont think you have to worry about duty if you live in the US.

Yeah, I looked at the order form as I was placing my order but everything after address was in Japanese and I can't read it lol. Wanna help me out?

  4. I put this question to Evisu a good few months ago, and they never got back to me...

I'm guessing you're right, though. I said a while back that the extra cost cannot be justified, if so.

Nor does No.2 fade any worse than the No.1. Indeed, as pointed out before, a lot of the most impressively faded Evis(u) jeans are made of No.2 denim.

Thanks, I think I'll be going for the #2 lot 2000.

Anyone order from rakuten before? I'm gonna order these http://en.item.rakuten.com/gmmstore/evisu-6/ but few questions first. These are the handpainted gulls correct? WIll Rakuten hem (chainstitch) the jeans for you if you give them an inseam length?

Also, if anyone has ordered from the US, how are the custom fees or other fees? is there a way to avoid those?

  5. I think he was talking about that %50 off sale.

that explains it it's not the made in Japan one's.

Sorry for being annoying, but for everyone to answer, does the $100 price difference justify the difference between the #1 and #2 lot 2000? If so, why?

    thanks

  6. Your Samurais are about to die? How long you been wearing them for?

And No.2 denim is No.2 denim, nothing more even though the cut might differ.

As for 2001 vs 2000? 2001 is a looser cut, and the Evisu 'standard' cut as such. The 200o cut is slimmer, a more recent cut, and more popular on here.

For me though, the 2001 cut wins. :)

Not die, but the crotch is about to be blown so I want to get those patched up and I will want something new to add in to my rotation. I've been wearing my Samurai's for about a year straight.

    About this, I plan to get the #1 2000 in a 33

    http://en.item.rakuten.com/earthmarket/egd20001wht/

What does the X5 points mean and it is free shipping to the US correct?

If I plan to get the #2 2000 I plan to get it in a 31

    http://en.item.rakuten.com/gmmstore/evisu-6/

Do you guys think that an extra $100 will justify the differences between the #1 and #2?

These are the handpainted gulls correct? Also, will they hem (chainstitch) for free as well?

  7. Hi everyone. My Samurai's are about to die and I'm looking for a pair of new jeans. After trying some on I've decided on either the #1 denim lot 2000 or the #2 lot 2000. Blue in Green is out of my size for both so I was wondering if anyone knew any other sites to buy (I'm in the U.S. Houston, TX to be specific).

Also, What is the main difference between the 2000 and 2001?

The only site I know of is Rakuten, but I can't really tell what is what.

I'm basically looking for the #2 lot 2000 with tabs and gulls just like the one on BiG:

    http://blueingreensoho.com/site/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=shop.flypage&product_id=2405&category_id=78&manufacturer_id=0&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=28

    I'm looking for a sz. 30 or 31 waist.

Would this be the same as the BiG #2?

    http://en.item.rakuten.com/gmmstore/evisu-6/

I'm asking because there seems to be alot of #2 listed and I dont really know if one is different from the next.

Also, would this be the same as the #1 on BiG?

    http://en.item.rakuten.com/earthmarket/egd20001wht/

do they allow you to hem the jeans for free before shipping them out?

    thanks for your help guys.

  8. Are you into jawns, streetwear, workwear, or preppy steez.

If you have to do touristy stuff, you may have to be pretty selective about what shops you wanna visit.

For example, if you are not into JAWNZ, itll be pointless for you to go to west side e.g. rick, aloha,

If you are thinking of picking up a northface jacket, i presume you know very little about your style / what types of stuff you'd b interested in.

LOL, i'm from houston so it doesnt get too cold down here and all i hear for warmth in New york in the winter is a North Face to keep warm (plus I'm a college student who's looking for something cheap). I plan to visit BIG, Selfedge, Uniqlo, and random other places. I'm not that big into streetwear as i used to be, but it's on the list since i'll be going with my brothers and some friends.

  9. I searched but the last post was from a year ago so I decided to post this up.

vI'm taking my first trip to NYC in mid November (19th) and will be there from Thursday-Sunday. I was wondering how the weather was at this time period so I know what to bring with me or if I should go buy a North Face (don't really know about the cold, I'm from Houston)? Other then that, any suggestions for site seeing, good eats, nightlife, or anything else?

So far, the only thing really planned is the shopping. If there is a "must go" shopping place, just suggest it. Any type of place is cool. The more suggestions the better.

    The other things planned are:

    1) Go see the 9/11 site

    2) Central Park

    3) Statue of Liberty

    4) The big ice skating rink near the big tree (if it's up before Thanksgiving)

    5) Time Square

    6) Rockefeller Center

    7) The Metropolitan Museum of Art

I was wondering if there are any other sites worth seeing?

Next is food, I want to try the following and what to know what/where is the best:

    1) Pizza

    2) Hot Dogs

    3) Burgers

    4) Deli's / Sandwiches

    5) Asian (any type, not a must but if it's worth it we'll go)

    6) Steakhouse

and any other places/foods you think is worth trying. I'm not a picky eater just want to see what NYC has to offer.

    Nightlife/bars

We plan to go out a couple nights but not to a club or anything. Just a chill place to relax and drink a bit and maybe a little food as well. Any cheap places to hang out and drink (beer, liquor, sake, soju, anything is cool)? The more suggestions the better.

If there's anything I should know or places that you think I must see just suggest it.

    Thanks for the help ST.
