  1. THE HISTORY

    - bought these jeans in april of 08

    - wore them for a period of time which i can't remember now (somewhere between 1-2 weeks, every day of the week)

    - noticed a small tear in the knee which started growing

    - sent them back suspecting a defect, but they said it was my fault and sent them back

    - bought another pair, started a thread to sell the ripped pair sometime in spring/summer of 08, couldn't find any buyers

    - tucked them away in a drawer

    - pulled them out of the drawer 3-4 months ago and decided to send them to denim therapy

    - wasn't excited with the way it looked, tucked them away again

    PRESENT DAY

    - making another post to sell these fkn jeanz

    - including many pics so buyers know exactly what they're getting

    - accepting paypal/check/cash/money order/whatevz else i have (just ask)

    - i tried setting a fair price, but if i failed i'm sure people will let me know

APC NEW STANDARDS SIZE 26 MEASUREMENTS (measured by me)

    waist (laid flat) - 14"

    inseam - 34"

leg opening (laid flat) - 6.5"

    thigh (laid flat) - 9"

    front rise - 9.5"

    PIX

    - the pics are fairly huge so i'll link as opposed to having them inline: http://img199.imageshack.us/slideshow/webplayer.php?id=sizelabels.jpg. lighting was being a bitch which is why you may see two pics of the same thing.

    thanks for reading!

  2. these are my first pair of new standards which were only worn for 6 days after they got a small rip in the thigh. i sent them back to context who declared that the rip was my doing. currently the waist is exactly 14.5" when laid on a flat surface, and the inseam is a little over 34".

updated: asking price is $55. i accept paypal (+4%), money order, and a meetup/pickup if you are in philly.

many more pics located here: http://www.pages.drexel.edu/~jk544/apc. the pics towards the bottom show the rip as it currently is. note: the fit pics were taken before the rip. i'll provide more pics/measurements on request.

  3. here's my infoz for those who have somehow not found enough information on apc's new standards fit on sufu. maybe this will give someone my size what they need to make a choice~~

i'm about 5'9", 135 lb, with an inseam of about 31". my waist measures 31" around, and originally i purchased 28s, but they fit just OKAY, leaning towards slightly loose. i knew they were due to stretch, so i exchanged for a 26 (they didn't have 27s at the time). the 26s are okay because i like my jeans tight anyways. when i got them they were ridiculously tight and left marks around my waist for the first week or so. they're pretty good now after about 3 weeks and i'm sure they will even stretch a little more.

here's some pics with many more here (beware: really effeminate shots of my midsection in there [no homo]). my apologies for the quality. the pics were taken for the marketplace, and are actually of my first pair of 26s which ripped (i'm now on my second).

  4. i bought a mercier kilo tt recently, and i don't think it comes with any brakes. here's where i got it from: http://bikesdirect.com/products/mercier/kilott.htm. can anyone recommend a set of front and rear or maybe just front brakes (my sensibility and my vanity are still working that out)? without any knowledge of brake pricing, i would like something average but not amazing (i did get a kilo tt afterall), and my range is probably around $50. thanx doodz

  5. the sag of my beans??!! 32 - 32.5 = ±0.5 in ! i did two test measurements and they fell between those two numbers. >,<

as for the sizing difference i did that as per bikedirect's recommendation on their fit page. thanks for the link!

  6. another quick question! if my inseam (heel to crotch) is 32 - 32.5 in, and my arm length (middle of palm to armpit) is 23 in, i should choose the 53 cm model with a standover of 785 (30.9 in)? thanks in advance. here is the geometry page for the kilo tt. i assumed that the measurement for the standover height was in mm.

  7. does anyone have an offhand site about choosing a frame size? quick google results didn't look very reliable. i'm slightly over 5'9. measuring my inseam in a sec.

  8. hi dudes. i guess i'm kinda corny because i'm jumping on the fixed gear bandwagon. is this worth the price?

if i wanted to build a generic, plain looking, extremely light (alu?) fixed gear, how much could i expect to pay? i'm in philly and there is a place called the bike church that i was planning on stopping by, but it's only open on tuesdays, thursdays and sundays.

  9. i purchased a pair of 26 apc ns's from context about 3 weeks ago and received them in the mail two days after that (april 4th according to gmail). i wore them from the 4th to the 11th after which i noticed a rip in the thigh. i couldn't think of anything i was doing at the time that may have caused the rip, i told context this and they agreed to examine it for defect. however, the prognosis came back positive and they said it must have been something i did to inadvertently cause the rip.

i'm starting them at $90. there is some stretching in the waist - i measured it as 14.5" (the measurement of the back waist, laid flat on a hard surface and smoothed out). the length is 34" which i think is the original length they all come in.

pics can be found here: http://www.pages.drexel.edu/~jk544/apc/

more pics will be posted later tonight (the 24th).

i emailed context for proof of purchase since they kept my original receipt when i returned. i'm waiting to hear back from them and then i will post their pic of the receipt (or whatever they email me).

  10. I own a pair....natural waistline is 28. So I sized down 3. The fit is awesome, however if you're getting Black I would recommend a 26. For Indigo, a 25 is fine since they stretch more.

It's hard for me to swag the Black NS right now since it doesn't want to stretch much in the waist. Measures about 26.5' at the moment. Hope it gives some more so I can wear it on the hip bone at least.

    fit pics??

  11. this is something of a cross post, but in reference to this pair of jeans: http://www.superfuture.com/supertalk/showthread.php?t=49153

i know it's standard to size down 1-3 sizes, but if i wear a 29 waist in something silly like levis 511s, can anyone tell me if these 25 ncs are advisable? i want a slim fit and these look wonderful, but this 25 that measures 28" (which will stretch?) is throwing me off a bit.

  12. hello all. this is my first post, be gentle!

i'm completely new to quality denim. over the summer i wore levis 511 skinnys because i was in a jean crisis and they were what was given to me. they aren't great, but they are manageable with flip flops or bare feet. i can't stand them now that it's getting colder out and i'm wearing shoes, so i'm looking to buy something to end this nightmare. i don't want to spend anymore than $80 or $100 on a single pair, considering i'm a broke student and can't afford to invest more than that in pants. if i could get something like 2 pair for $120 or $140 that would be good, but i think that's asking too much.

i like pants that are as slim as i am. i've found that i like it tight on my thigh and either straight leg or slightly belled towards the foot. i really, really, really hate tapered leg as i've found with the skinnys. i guess you could say i like a straight leg or slightly belled? someone help me here because i don't know jean terminology.

any suggestions are greatly appreciated, hope that wasn't too long. thanks for reading!

edit: other jeans i've owned in the past six years are basically girls jeans, levis 511, 514, and some express seven rip offs. i'm a little too old to be doing the girl jean thing anymore, which is why i'm here.
