  1. I have some 9011s and they are narrower than them. I wouldn't say narrower then chucks except for the fact that they start off stiffer being leather as opposed to canvas. Also note they are longer. Trying them on in store I had to size down from a 9 (usual Red Wing size) to an 8.

  2. The new RM 2268s plus some bonus pics from Lightening Maintenance Magazine.

Fit wise I sized down a half on my regular shoe size. They crippled me after the first day of wear but I massaged a bit of mink oil in and have worn all day today. They seem to be getting there, tough SOBs though.

  3. Washboy, I think your efforts look pretty good - aside from as already mentioned some of the rips on the thighs, that's the kind of thing I see at TopShop.

For me and many others here it sort of misses the point. As Opie and others have said, it's wabi sabi, it's the journey dude, it's how each day your denim changes and ages with you. I guess you know this as you say you wear raw most of the week. I say keep with the updates, don't rise to the haters but expect a lot of disagreement.

And in a couple of years when you've worn in your raw denim then post side-by-side with your artificial wear, will be fascinating.

  4. There's a picture Hugh - always Prince Regent from Blackadder 3 for me - on Aero's ebay page wearing a Highwayman. And I think i've read that he wears Belstaff, they seem to have really penetrated the Hollywood set.

  5. Word from Lewis @ Superdenim.co.uk is that they too will be stocking Joe McCoy in due course.

Excuse my poor dumb ass but what i'm not quite understanding is how these will differ from the current Real McCoys line-up. This goes beyond just a change of label right? Different cuts, denim, details, etc?

Denomito or anyone else, got any insights on this?

  6. ... and another thing... sorry if i'm straying slightly off topic here but thinking of McQueen and this latest MrFreedom line led me to watch On Any Sunday at the weekend - really recommended to anyone that rides or just likes the vibe. Good late 60s early 70s styles.

  7. ^^ I remember reading a tale once of how McQueen turned down a date with a top Hollywood starlet because he wanted to re-wax his Belstaff jacket.

Just to note, he wore a Barbour for the six day trials event in '64, it was the team clothing but it's reported his personal preference was for Belstaff.

Anyway, the Mr Feedom jungle cloth version looks amazing!
