  1. Possibly keep and taper? Idk they look huge from the knee down.

i hear what you're saying. like they have a gnarly little 'kick-flare' or something. in fairness they look straight-ish legged from the side:

  2. these jawns confuse me a tad. i'm not sure what to think of them. for reference, i take a 32 in sam 5000vx, skull 5507, ironhearts etc. so i copped these 005s in a 32 as well. after soaking my reaction was that i'd fucked up. they were like a girl-jeans or a vile denim tourniquet. anyway i decided to give them a week before putting em up for sale. so a week later they're like this. i don't think they look that bad, but the cut is certainly on the odd side. i dunno, sell or keep?

  3. Delay update and taken with a digital camera.

PBJ XX-005 1 year and 3 months-ish of wear time.

Retiring these and I need suggestions for my next pair!

why on earth would you want to retire them? they're starting to look good?

  4. Need some quick size advice on 5507xx RAW.

33.5" waist, but I wear low on hips, 35.5", thighs are 24".

BiG charts sz 33 is 35W and 13 thigh

    sz 34 is 36W and 13.5 thigh

which one would be better ?

that's my waist size and i bought a 32 which easily stretched out. unless u want relaxed fit, 34 will be too big. i have a fit pic earlier in this thread

  5. I'm a little confused about pre and post wash, what's the point of soaking jeans before wearing them exactly? I never did this with my skulls or apc and they both turned out really well.

I wore a size 31 tagged (32" actual) of Skull 5507s, so I should get the exact same size for Sams S0500XX - correct?

you soak to get rid of the starch. if yr skulls were a one-wash it's obviously not relevant. if you like jeans that feel like cardboard then go for it!

i have a tagged 32 in 5507 and a 32 in S5000VX. there's not much in it (even though the 5000 isn't tapered and the zero denim stretches quite a bit). the sams are a bit roomier but i'd imagine the 0500 would be pretty close to the 5507

  6. For the record (no pun) i thought Rough Trade was a nice shop, though definitely didn't look like the type of place you'd go to find a hidden jem or a record you'd been searching for.

I'm on the Greyhound bus to Portsmouth now, fuck yeah wifi on a bus.

    a fair summation i'd say.

wooah... night out in portsmouth? - a little scary lol! just don't mention the state their football team are in

  7. 60 hours in London.

Name 2 things i should not miss.

spitalfields market (sunday), rough trade records (truman brewery off brick lane)

then son of a stag (opposite rough trade) and check out rudy's 3 union specials lol!

btw i've been shopping at rough trade since 1982 and despite what readytoignite says, the brick lane store is excellent.. tho neals yard did suck.....

  8. Stretched out? Were they 32 at the waist originally? (Or 34, and you soaked, they shrunk, but you put on wet to expand them back to 34?) I thought Sams were supposed to shrink, not stretch... Replies above said I should go with a 35 or 36 if I wanted a 34 waist.

I know they could be different Lots and that would change their original waist size, but even then I thought they'd all shrink a bit -- not expand. I thought I might order today and now I'm not sure what to do again.

    Thanks.

bit late replying..doh! yes were about 33.5" pre-soak then shrank to like a 31" lol! freaked out for about 30 seconds then wore em damp till they resolved to a nice fit by the time they were dry

  9. No arcuates and new tab for 2010

    35.jpg

presumably BiG wouldn't be able to sell these either, due to some stupid shit about a tab sewn between two pieces of fabric or whatever the fuck else levi's are bitching about

  10. I suppose you're from the US?

why not using the Denim Doctors in LA? Less trouble and probably cheaper

actually from uk - hadn't thought about denim doctors tho. do u know if they offer an international service?

  12. as you may know, BiG have apparently stopped hemming jeans that weren't bought from them (if it's a brand they carry). that's bit of a pain as i just received and soaked my S5000VX's bought from 2nd. has anyone got any experience of sending their jeans back to 2nd or anywhere else in Japan for hemming? how easy is it to communicate, how expensive etc? would appreciate any info :)
