just last night's chinese dinner..

Officially my favorite Thai place in town!

I cooked a 4 course seafood dinner for 6 people at home. Challenging but very satisfying. I probably spent around 90 euros for all the ingredients (which includes 7 bottles of wine )

In Amsterdam...

I complain about:

- The shitty wet weather all year round. You don't have a consistent summer nor winter.

- Expensive housing if you're not local. The local get all this social housing benefit that cost them practically nothing.

- Good food is available but only if you want to pay good money for it. It's lacking the cheap street food options. Unless you want to eat fries and those dodgy food from FEBO.

- People not making the effort to speak Dutch to me. I took courses and I want to get better at Dutch but seems like when they hear that I am not native, they switch to English straight away.

I adore:

- The cycling culture. Being able to go from one end to the other end of the city on your bike is amazing. Also, no helmet and bullshit drunk cycling rule. It's just you and your bike.

- Being super central. You're practically one short flight away to everything! Berlin, London, Paris, Copenhagen, Antwerp are all your long weekend destination.

- Very chill and international. Maybe it's because of my work as well I get to be exposed to all the international people working here.

- 28 working days off in a year! Compare THAT to working in the US. I think it's quite European that you can have a way better work - live balance.

- Summer in the city! When the proper summer comes, being out in the city or just chilling at the park.

yeah! my first time there. super awesome. i was shocked seeing the pork head - lobster meal some other tables were having :eek:

It was my very first time in Montreal and I was greeted but these amazing food!

Started with the compulsory Poutine with fois gras, then we move on to the awesome fruits de mer and I finished with a full lobster. Can't really remember how I can fit all those food

Took me at least half an hour to color code 1 kg of m&ms.

Just trying to revive this thread!

I'll be heading to LA this Saturday for work (one week). And after that I decided to stay extra 2 days over the weekend.

I've only been in LA once before when I was 13 or something on a family trip so I don't remember much. But I do remember that I've done all the touristy stuff that everyone will be doing normally.

I'll be staying at West Hollywood during my 'work' period. But after that I need to find another hotel for the duration of my private stay. What will be the best area to go? I don't drive. So will probably only be taking cabs / walk.

Was thinking downtown, but not sure if that's a good idea?

If anyone can recommend a nice and cute hotel around 100-150 bucks a night it would be great!

Any other tip is also welcomed! Thanks!
