  1. thank you everyone for such a helpful, as always, feedback. i was stupid enough to compare this type of jacket to my motorcycle leather jacket. gary eastman, himself, confirmed that the type of hide i have for my jacket is the standard thickness, which is 1.1mm - 1.2mm. i was confused when reading this forum about the users' feedback about the stiffness and the weight of the jacket. personally, i'm very comfortable wearing heavyweight motorcycle leather jacket for my daily riding and track day. the weight and the stiffness of this a2 is nowhere near when compared to my several heavyweight motorcycle leather jackets. for my body type, i'm confident that the fit is spot on! i love it!

nonetheless, i'm very satisfied with the jacket except the very small tear on the leather surface, which shows on the last picture. the tear didn't penetrate all the way from the other side. charles from hpa told me that it looks like an insect bite, and i shouldn't worry about because it's a nature of a natural leather. they are glad to replace my jacket with a new one, which would happen on early next year. that wait is too long for me. what do you guys think?

  2. my a2 eastman roughwear 27752 finally arrived today. this is my first horsehide leather jacket, but i have several motorcycle leather jackets in different hides. is it normal for the horsehide leather to feel like a cardboard when brand new? my motorcycle jackets are way heavier than this a2 jacket. or, i got, unfortunately, sub par horsehide?

  3. I think the black cherry have a lot more character, but that's just my opinion. Here's a shot of my black cherry GT's, with some wear.

is this model only available in europe? i've read that this specific model was released only in europe, and i asked the local red wing stores if they carry, which they don't.

  4. that crotch looks like its been chewed by a bear, great fades.

thanks. i have a monster residing in my crotch.. lol.. riding my bicycle and motorcycle seemed to be the contributors of the damaged crotch area.

  5. like i said before. i decided to post my pic here on waywt shit-talking thread (it's funnier to have the critics here!) instead in regular waywt thread because, eventually, this pic is going to end up on this thread anyways.. so, this is my S5000VX 34 soak for 2 hours.. also, i'm a fat ass with a muffin-top on a raw denim.. so, i don't have the sufu fit, but it's alright, i'm working my fat-ass in the gym for a couple of months now! what do you guys think? hilarity ensue!

  7. BiG x Samurai USA model, size 33. Natural waist is around 34.5. I'm a little above 5'11" and about 170 lbs. These have been through a hot wash and almost a full hot dry (pulled them out while they were still just a little damp). Weren't hemmed.

youkinorn, what kind of shoes were you wearing? it looks like the one in varvatos' 08 spring collection that i'm eyeing for.

  8. I just received this samurai today, and I'm selling it unworn and unwashed due to its small waist line. I believed BIG is out of stock with 34 size, but Gordon brought this from Japan. I have this hemmed at 35 in BIG also. I'm selling it for 285 + shipping. If you're interested send me a PM, I'll send pictures.
