  1. Wait im kinda lost, is green caste the type of the denim, or the name of that denim? (eg, nakame minami, hotel fans, etc). Initially, i tot the pair you wearing on that photo with kanji was called "mizuhiki". But im no expert..

like slowdownarthur, im also inspired by your pics CTB, and either green caste or Hotel Fans is going to be my next pair. I bought lot (Editted: 0001) waist 32 red painted arc, but it seems its way way too baggy for me. imma sell them i think..

here are some fit pics of pre-soak lot (Editted, lot 0001) true size.

    What do you guys think?

The green caste is the kind of denim; either lot 330 or 660 (I forget atm.) the Mihizuki and Hotei fans were the name and they used the same green caste broken twill in lot 0005 cut. apart from a few details they are basically the same.

Also, yeah, I would size down on those; chances are that the sanforized denim will stretch out more. All the America/International Evisu is sanforized so they won't shrink with a soak.

  2. Just got off the phone with Matt @ Evisu. He said the Lee's should be hitting Evisu.com as soon as tomorrow. I'm so excited!!!

    Also check this.....

    AW FUCK!

Well, on one hand, This is really exciting to see Evisu America trying to "return to their roots" by having No. 1 and No. 2 denim on the main Evisu line.

On the other hand, I promised myself no more denims this year... and all these new fabrics and whatnot are going to make me break that promise... Goddammit...

Also, that No. 4 denim is going to give Selvage a bad name... what makes "japanese selvage denim" so special is that it is the cream of the crop with double ringspun denim... no. 4 is no better than raw mall jeans.

  3. when did new 21 oz come out?

price point is higher than the old pair...

    http://item.rakuten.co.jp/bluemarble/dartisan1405/

Yeah those do look real nice. The price point is higher because it is a much different fabric... IIRC, the fabric on the D-1293's and the other old 21oz pair basically took 19oz denim and added 2oz's to the weft, which makes them look kind of goofy. It's a fabric similar to Iron Hearts. The weave on the new pair is much more similar in feel to the samurai 21oz, I think, so the weft is in proportion to regular denim just heavier

  4. I'm not too keen on the Evisu making jeans that fade faster; I hope that isn't the case.

I really doubt it is; I just remember reading on here a long time ago that after SDA and Eternal the hardest to fade were Evisu's. I'm also wearing them tighter than the jeans I've worn so far so that could have something to do with it.

  5. Someone else had that gold and black selvedge.....I'm guessing Evisu changes the color every year......

Yeah you're probably thinking of me I posted a little less than a month ago... I don't have any real updates yet but they are fading a lot faster than i thought they would

  6. Wide rolls would be good for cutting jeans as half selvage, fronts cut along the selvage and backs in the middle using one length instead of two. With 30" there is a fair amount of denim left over even after cutting parts.

Edit: Would also be good for jackets as there are not to many exposed selvage edges, depending on style, just the front 2 facings and possibly waistbands, cuffs and collar...which isn't to common. Using 30" the selvage is either discarded or in some cases sewn into felled seams, never to see the light of day again.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the 60" selvage has been around for a while... didn't Lee used to use half selvage on their jeans?

and please Baeyer-Drewson, please act like an adult and just neg rep scotty and ignore. theres no reason to double the shit in a thread just because you're pissed. Try to let go whatever grievances you have with the guy and let him get negged to hell and go away

  7. Excuse the double post, but I thought I'd jump in before the impending rush of pics of worn denim to shit the thread up some more with denim pornography.

Came across these jeans on the 'net just now, and am pretty intrigued:

^Crash those jeans look pretty cool... I assume they're natural indigo? who knows? but it looks like the back rise on those is almost as long as the waist which is goofy. Also, check out the tab- those must be way old!

  8. ^ post pic's Delta!!!

    Alright, here goes:

Evishoes at around 3 months, heavy wear: definitely my favorite "steppin' out" shoes. Like sixsixties's pair, got them for $15 dollars IMO a total steal

ridiculous low to the ground shot:

stamped with the Danger Danger gallery stamp after a crazy night in West Philly

You can see some of the serious "patina" forming (re: gross dirt)

    I love em

  9. aczaxd.jpg

Not a bad score for $15 canadian dollars.

I have a pair of those with red gulls... They're actually pretty nice low tops and I've totally wrecked them from walking around in. If anyone wants to see my ratty evishoes I'd be happy to post pics

  10. Cross post from evo... wanted to bump this thread and remind everyone how great these pants are

WH Duckdigger 1950's 5 months probably about 5 washes

    goodbackkr2.jpg

Don't really wear them anymore, so I"m lending them to a friend. Excited to see how he wears them in...

  11. Damn, that's a nice fit

Thanks! At first they were crazy tight; its a little more sufu fit than i'd like them; I thought these would size similar to my USA Samurais, but after a few days i'm happy with them.

    are those handpainted?

yeah balck selvedge lastest edition; heavier bluer hue denim

Yeah Ed, they're handpainted. I'm surprised tho, cause the paint is starting to already chip away and it's only been three days. I guess I'm going to have to get some fabric paint and touch up in a couple of months (or weeks, based on how this is going).

  12. well, I'm clearly not cheep, but i did just get a pair of 2000 no. 1's from Japan...

Compared to the other selvage stuff I have, these feel absolutely indestructible

a little denim pr0n, pictures of the new selvage:

Really excited to see how these break in compared to the Evisu spread in Lightning Indigo Master a while back...

  13. Hey everyone,

    EDIT: SOLD

Up for sale is a pair of PBJ's XX-006's that i got earlier this year. It was my first foray into raw denim, and i enjoy the jeans a lot. however, they really aren't my size at all, and I want to give them up to get a different, slightly more fitting pair of some other jeans.

This pair has the tab, and the overall natural indigo is really a really very nice color (the pictures from my crappy point and shoot can't do them justice). They only have a little fading on them, just a little whiskering and an extremely slight fade from my phone in the front pocket, creasing but no honeycombs. I've never kept anything in the back pockets, and they don't have any wear because of it.

I'm asking for $100 shipped. Please either send a PM or email [email protected]. Thanks so much!
