thanks brohams.
koven, your old crib was swag to the maximum
I built the desk myself. It's 15" from the wall. 20" would have been much more comfortable.

Spent a few months in Switzerland helping to decorate my girlfriend's apartment. Built the origami thing and pipe bookshelf. Notice the bookshelf doesnt tie into the wall but instead is compressed between the floor and ceiling. I'm currently talking to the people at Apartment Therapy so there might be a tutorial post on it soon.

^ mmm yes that's right. they're usually in a row of three.
you guys might like this blog entry about a person who got an authentic eames lounge chair for $50:

some others are on ebay. You can get the upholstered ones cheap on ebay, if you're willing to remove the upholstery. However, there is a chance that the legs are screwed through the chair. You can ask the seller to check this, but in my experience they're almost always wrong.

Scott, Shufon,
craigslist. The best deals were the orange chairs. $60 each. The rocking chair I only paid $100 for.
You have to be quick to e-mail the person, and willing to travel long distances to pick them up.

thanks. i was visiting my boo in her home Lausanne. She works in Geneva, so i'd spend some time there too. Guy with the cow is her uncle. He's the one that took me up in the glider.

as long as you're not inspecting people's pants for exposed rivets before they sit down...
I'd love a pair as well but I'd have the exact same mindset as Broke, so they'd probably just end up sitting in my bedroom and not being seen, which sucks.
hahha, i totally would notice if people had rivets.

^ I dunno. There are people that are banned from my apartment now because I'm so anal about protecting my two. I flipped out when a guy used one as an ottoman.
But they are pretty cool.

there was also a request a while back on how to make the origami crap. Here's a video I made. Sorry for the late response:

5-4 - try an expedit bookshelf from ikea. the 2x4 hole one should work, and you can put hyour records in the spaces. The turntables will be a little wide for the top of the shelf, so you can get a similarly sized lack shelf in the same veneer to put on top. It should look nice. If it's too short, add four pedestal legs at the bottom similar to those used for the Besta shelf units.
Nesk - I think i have a laminated floor. I didn't screw into it. The shelf is attached to the wall at the top only with screws in drywall anchors. I followed a tutorial I saw on the Brick House Blog. The difference between mine and that one is that they use custom pipe lengths, which is hard to match up. I used 18" 12" and 6" pipes. it does scuff up your floor though, so you should put something on the bottom flanges:
I think it cost around $300 for the parts.

the white ones are for dining table. The rocking chair is in my bedroom. The leather one in my roomates room. One orange one is my computer table. The other three are put away in the closet. There are four more stacking ones in storage.
We get them cheap, and restore them, hence why we have so many.
