what is the actual waist size on the 29's? thanks.

I just got some dukes in a 30 and they are way too tight. Can't even button them up. Im exchanging them for a bigger size. Does a 33 sound right?
try a 31 or MAYBE even a 32. as long as you can get the top button, you are good. they will stretch. unless you are going for a really baggy look, go ahead and go for the 33.

How long would it take to chainstich if we were to drop the denim off?
it shouldn't take more than a week depending on what day you drop your jeans off.
i dropped my jeans off on sunday, they were ready by monday. i was very happy.

anyone care to comment? I'm going up there the 8th-12th and probably need a place for around $60-100? Also anyone know how far Vallejo is compared to SF?
It's about 45 minutes North East of San Francisco.
Just act like you are going to Sacramento from San Francisco and you'll hit Vallejo on the way.
There's a toll bridge to get into vallejo.

Wow, great answers so far guys. I really appreciate your input. I'll make sure you all get your +rep (as soon as this 24hour lock is over)
Thanks again! Any more tips/advice/places are welcome!

Hi everyone,
I've realized I live a pretty boring life, and instead of just saying, "I'm going to travel one day" - I've decided to actually start looking into going somewhere. Even if it's only for a week or two. I want to start planning.
I figured SuFu would be a great place to ask, seeing as how we have people from all over the world here who enjoy the best of the best.
So if people would contribute their own, "this is a place you HAVE TO visit!"** I would really appreciate it. It doesn't matter where it is.
Also, any kinds of suggestions for traveling abroad would be much appreciated. (hostels, things to bring, what not to do, etc.)
**oh yeah, if you say something like Paris France could you give me places in Paris I should visit?
Thanks in advance everyone, I look forward to hearing your suggestions - and no, they don't necessarily have to be outside of the US (where I am located). Thanks again!

are all earnest sewn jeans raw/selvedge?
i'm looking at these:
http://www.revolveclothing.com/DisplayProduct.jsp?product=ES-MJ46&c=Earnest+Sewn&d=d
"Earnest Sewn Ace Slim Bootcut in Spike"
i'm not sure if they are raw/selvedge. the wash says "spike" - but i have no clue what that means.
thanks.

i used to shave, but i got sick of razor bumps/razors.
i picked up a bottle of nair* about 6 months ago and i juse use that.
apply. wait 10 minutes. wipe off.
leaves my armpits clean and smooth.
*the only thing i dislike is the smell. but if you shower thoroughly and use a decent soap, the smell should be gone. but sometimes it stays stuck in your nose (the smell)
good luck!

Umm, I think you got them mixed around. He's wearing them a bit too high, up towards his waist (belly-button-ish), so he should slouch slightly and wear them lower down towards his hips...
B/c as originally stated, if he was rockin' them below his hips, then they'd be hanging low near his junk...and if he had to pull them down to his waist, then it meant he was hanging that shit up hella high on his ribs, haha.
oh, wow. haha, i just noticed that. good lookin out. +1

So yeah, the black ones are the same as the indigos (though apparently they don't stretch as much). I'm definitely feeling them. I sized down one addition size this time and they're hella tight but they'll be fine eventually. I couldn't do my 27s up for the first couple days and now I can stuff my closed fist in the waist. Shitty photos:
size 26, 6' 1", 150.
how do those look with shoes on?
i notice because you are so tall, the inseam seems short.
excellent fit, by the way. very nice, man.

damn, those look clean man.
for me, as long as when you sit like this:
your socks aren't showing, that's good enough.
they are a good clean fit.

Just picked up a pair of Dukes in size 31....
And in the event I do decide to keep these, any suggestions for how much to hem these, especially considering I haven't soaked/washed them yet? I think the stacks are pretty cool but maybe I'm overdoing it a bit. First post too btw, I've enjoyed reading everyone's posts here for the last year or so
hey man, your jeans look great. don't worry about your thighs, the denim will stretch out. I have a pair the same size as you and they do stretch. however, if you are looking for a "baggier" or more "relaxed" fit, size up. i am glad i stuck it out with the 31s just because the waist fits amazing and if it were to stretch, i wouldn't be upset. they'd just fit a little more relaxed.
don't get your denim hemmed until AFTER you soak them. my dukes measured 39 before and 38.3 after.
I went to go get them hemmed after that.
Imagine if I had gotten them hemmed then i washed them. the sizing would have been off by almost an inch.
pull that shit down a bit, you look like an old man(the stacking looks awesome)
i'm with jayrock, you gotta pull your pants down a bit, man. it looks like you are rockin' them just a bit below your hips. pull them down to your waist. i think you will dig the look.
good luck with your denim, bro!

hey guys, im kinda new to raw denim. and i have a pair of APC Hipsters in a 31. and i was wondering if i gave it a hot soak will it shrink much? and how long do i soak it for?
oh and one more thing. is the APC rescue slimmer than the hipsters or not?
thanks guys
hey buddy.
the APC hipsters are the smaller jeans.
Hipsters > New Standard > Rescues
Rescues would be the baggier model. More of a relaxed fit.
---
as far as soaking, what I did was I soaked my denim in hot water for about 3 hours (inside out). I just left them there while I did other things. Afterwards, I put them on my roof to dry. They shrunk about .5 inches in length and the waist went back to the original size. After a few wears the waist just went back to how it was before the soak.
Hope this helps.

Anyone know any retail stores to try on Dukes in the LA area?
Last I heard Self Edge (in sf) was the only retailer in all of California. But that might have changed.
