Dior Homme plimsoll sneaker

Here's a fascinating bit of knowledge, footwear geeks: Dunlop devised the first plimsoll back in 1830 -- but, as Poste recalls only all too well, it wasn't much of a looker and worked very poorly with the frilly pantaloons of the time. Dior's homme-age for A/W 2007 should fare a lot better.

Martin Margiela A/W 2007 army sneakers

Any self-respecting footwear connoisseur should know the alleys and backstreets of Antwerp like the back of his hand. While we're expecting Dries van Noten's latest efforts any day now, in the meantime let us present to you Flem compatriot Martin Margiela's latest sneakers.

Miu Miu A/W 2007

Last season's Miu Miu lace-up was a slender, softly chisel-toed affair, and a lesson if ever we saw it in parred-down Italian sophistication. Forget all that for autumn/winter -- Miu Miu's shoe of the season is this brogue, bulbous of toe but slender of profile; a paradox which looks just as good with spray-on jeans as with any variety of suit trouser.

And here we have a solid, sturdy sneaker resembling a particularly luxurious Adidas Stan Smith, we think the regular black is the safe option, but how about some patent?
