  1. anyone know where i can buy the 901 model in the new 15.7oz fabric?

You can order them thru me. I currently have sizes 31, 32 in stock and can order any other you'd like.

For anyones else interested. You can order through me. We try our hardest to keep the prices down but with the fluctuating USD and shipping costs there is a slight up-charge. BUt don't worry we offer 10% discount to SUFU!

  2. +1 on that question. If what you are showing is the normal slim "go to war" model that BiG sells, then my 3,5 month old pair has more pronounced lap whiskers.

    Then again, my aren't purple..

they are not the same as BIG. these are original models, much different than BIGs models. different weight denim and different dye.

  3. have you actually WORN those for 2.5 years? and the still look more or less brand new!?!

It could be the flash that makes them look purple. The GTW103 was one of the original Momotaro models that they no longer produce. and in my opinion it was there best fitting model. They were Raw, I have worn them for 2.5 years and only washed 4 times. the smaller womens model is only about 9 months worn with one wash and in the last picture you can see a new pair of one wash with no home laundry yet. tried to show the difference in colors. Guess i need a new camera or no flash. I have tons of other pics if anyones interested. have just about every model of momo's except hand woven.. but its on the list..

  4. momotaro seems to be a very high-quality brand, but they are the one label that is sufu-approved that no one has really beaten in yet. maybe cause of the inseam color, plus they fade really slow, like 811s. rampuya makes some of the finest denim on earth, so i know what they use for their house brand must be special. i've been waiting to see some good evo pics of these for some time now.

I've been wanting to post these for a long time but have been too busy. here are some pics 2 1/2 years after wearing and 4 cold washes, 9 months for the womens model with one cold wash, and a one wash pair with no home washes yet. Only worn those ones a few times. All washes with no detergent. gentle cycle hang dry. I've never gotten so much attention from a pair of jeans before. when my girlfriend and I wear our momo's together we get stopped all the time.

  5. cherrydrew, thanks for your pm. unfortunately i cant pm you back, so i have to reply on here.. do you think you can pm me your email or something? if you didnt want to i can continue to talk on here, that is fine.

did you have a link for draft one denim (if there even is one)? googling did nothing for me. i live in southern california, so i might not even be able to get it from there.

anyways i wasnt talking about a site i was wondering about a fellow forum member's jeans on post 52 http://www.superfuture.com/supertalk/showpost.php?p=603884&postcount=52

im looking for this model, or something unique like it. id definitely need a slim if not skinny cut (currently wearing diors 19cm) so something along those lines would be great. true waist is 28.

    thanks for all your help!

    sm2s.

    you can email [email protected]

The ones you referred to are the G004s, This is a high rise, slim cut. it sits really low in the rear rise. Not around the hips but in the butt. Depending on your build, I would probably recommend the MVPA603, it is a low rise boot-cut. A real cool jean if you are small enough to fit in them... send an email to the address above and you'll get hooked up. If you want something unique that will be it,, I think you would be the first in America to own a pair ofthe MVPA603, and thats pretty cool.

  6. Pigskin!!!

    You LIE, snake-tongue!

Good LORD, he lies not! It says so on Hinoya. The model pictured has pigskin pocket reinforcements. (Foaming at mouth)

If pigskin is present, cash must be exchanged for GOODS! Drew, do they ALL have pigskin, or just the Green Earth models?

Just this model A303 (green earth) has the pigskin pockets. Most off all of Japan Blues jeans are a smaller size cut.

The 603 fit is a Lowrise boot cut, the 103 is a medium rise straight leg, and the G004-s is a high rise slim leg. The old 503 fit was the best for non-Japanese buyers, but they stoped making that model.(Working on changing that) If you are intetesed in getting a pair I would suggest the 103 or G004-s as they have the largest rise and fit more true to size.

These Jeans are sickk! i love my momo's!:D

  7. From the pic, I don't think those are 3x1 twill, I think it's 2x1. And they appear to have overlocked outer seams (no selvedge).

I've seen the 81,000 yen jeans. The colour looks great. The denim is soft like a dish cloth. I prefer crispy stuff - tightly woven.

Heya, things being a bit slow at the mo with no real interesting discussion about jeans I thought id start a thread about a brand thats being whispered about but doesnt have a thread and could potentially be very interesting with lots to talk about...

Sorry, I dont intend to come across as negative but Momotaro has many interesting jeans that surely have more facets to discuss than APC sizing etc etc

    Heres the brands website

    http://www.japanblue.co.jp/momotaro/

    Personally I like these.....

    img53633004.jpg

available from the amicable chaps at Hinoya

    http://item.rakuten.co.jp/hinoya/a-303-01/

can anyone shed some light on the fabric???

ALso they have loads of different lines of jeans with lots of interesting options within,

Like these gorgeous Edo Aiesque 81000yen jeans!!!!

    http://www.japanblue.co.jp/denimhouse/item/48.html

    Anyone knows anything bout these???

ALso, im looking forward to getting my Kapital Jeans, the weird green No4 denim!!!!, ill update the Kapital thread when they arrive...

Edmond- Momotaro are on your wishlist right?

These jeans are great. The denim is interwoven with red dyed and indigo dyed thread, super soft, non-selvedge, rear pockets are moved to the sided seams and the front pockets rims are lined with pig skin. I've been wearing the GTW103 dry for about 10 months now, thinking about finally washing them. Its amazing how soft they have become. I never go a day without wearing them.... :D

Our prices reflect the cost of shipping, duties and taxes along with retail mark up. This stock of Momotaro Jeans was a limited shipment and very expensive to bring to America. So our prices reflect that. We are working to bring down the price as best we can.

If you are located in Japan then you can purchase a pair of these jeans for retail Yen. If you are outside of Japan then you can buy a plane ticket and fly to Japan and buy a pair of these jeans for retail Yen.

Or you can just buy them through us. Its your choice.

Rare items come at a cost until they become more popular.

For the other questions, you can see the GTWP0103 here

  11. That was a beautiful conversation. IT is true that the "Natural Dyed Indigo" denim Momotaro jeans uses will never fade, in fact it often gets darker with age. This is because the natural indigo penetrates to the core of the cotton, unlike synthetic indigo which only penetrates the first layer of the cotton. the Natural dyed denim jeans are very expensive, unlike their synthetic dyed denim which is more affordable.

As i have said Momotaro Jeans are considered by many to be the best denim in the world. the Trade marked color of "Japan Blue" is amazing.

Please contact me directly if you would like more information on Momotaro Jeans. If you are in Japan please watch NHK program that is airing tonight and this month, It is a documentary on Rampuya and their Momotaro Jeans line, It talks about how they produce this fantastic denim.

Here is the link to the english page

Special Report : Momotaro Jeans by Rampuya

The Kojima district of Kurashiki, Okayama Prefecture, was the birthplace of Japanese jeans and still makes many top brands today, including Levis. Rampuya jeans are made by traditional dying and weaving techniques that produce a unique feel and their appearance even improves with aging. We find out how it's done.

  12. As I dont have access to a great camera right now, please see these following website for photos of Momotaro jeans by Rampuya.

  13. Yes, Momotaro Jeans are carried in just over 20 stores in Japan. I have just talked with the guys at Momotaro and they want to create a new model of jean for outside of Japan. this mode will be called "KAIGAI MODEL"(oversea model) I am in charge of relaying a design to them for this model. I am trying to make this jean to be popular with most everyone so I am asking You the denim heads to relay your ideas to me. the denim market is pretty saturated right now, so in terms of a Premium Japanese jean, what cut would you most like to see? I was thinking of a medium rise, straight leg with a slightly slim leg, but not too slim to be a "rocker" jean. Offering this in a raw/unwshed and a one-wash in the Sea of Japan and dried in the sun. any ideas please let me know. thnks

  14. here are just a couple photos of the "GTWPO103" Model, these are a 14.7 dry.raw. unwashed zimbabwe denim that are a moderate straight cut with medium rise. the cotton is soft, glossy, and superior in whiteness. the printed lines on the right hip pocket is inspired by the stripes of regimental colors in the Warring States Period. the leather patch on these is made of deerskin printed with the illustration of Momotaro on it. button fly front with original momotaro buttons. Inseam is said to be 32"inch for 2007, but my 2006 models are 35"inch inseam so I need to clarify this with them. they are sanforized to minimize shrinkage. maybe 1.5inc in length.

NEVERMIND! I CANT UPLOAD THE PHOTOS FOR SOME REASON, TOO BIG, SO IF YOU ARE INTERESTED PLEASE EMAIL ME AND I WILL REPLY WITH PHOTOS OF THE "GOING TO WAR" MODEL AND OTHER MODELS IF YOU WANT A DIFFERENT CUT..

Sorry guys, I don't have the time to resize all the files to fit this blog regulations..
