  1. Is the knee and hem really the same measurement on the RRL bootcuts? Am I missing something here?

Yes, they are the same giving the slight boot cut look if you wear the correct inseam. I guess if you stack them then they will look straight. They are definitely not flares like the LVC 646 or modern 517. Many straight cut jeans are actually slightly tapered from knee to hem.

  4. I did a 2nd hot soak and hot dry. My size 31 came down to really close to posted measurements at BiG.

    waist 33"

    front rise 10.5"

    back rise 15"

    upper thigh 12"

    knee 9"

    leg opening 8"

    inseam 35.5"

    1718879335_da6d746f53.jpg

After a day's wear, I feel that they stretched out just a little bit on the thighs and knees. Overall, the fit and sizing is close to what I expected from looking at BiG measurements.

  5. aw, don't doubt yourself, man.

I know I don't wear my jeans nearly as hard as many folks here :).

Do you have any presoak/postsoak measurements?

    I didn't measure pre-soak (except waist: 36").

    Post-soak and dry (approximately):

    waist 34"

    front rise 10.5"

back rise 15.5" -> This is higher than I thought it would be

    upper thigh 12"

    knee 9"

    leg opening 8.5"

    inseam 36"

I think it will shrink a bit more if after another hot wash, close to the posted measurement at BiG.

  6. I saw the eco STFs with green selvage at the SF levi's store. The women's has 34 inseam and waist up to 28 or 29 while men's have 36" inseam and waist stating from 29. They look the same except for the size. IIRC, they are made in USA (of imported fabric?).

While I liked the denim, I didn't like the cut and I thought $245 was too steep. When I tried them on, the size didn't seem to be consistent and I didn't think it's the same as regular STFs either. Size 30 on these fit me a bit tight while size 31 must've been at least 2"-3" larger. So accounting for shrinkage, the 30 would probably cut into my waist while the 31 would still be to big.

I only tried those two pairs so maybe one or both of them are anomalies but the price didn't entice me to try on different pairs. The store had a bunch of them in women's and men's sizes though.
