  1. Hey Guy's,

I'm not sure how many people on this site are into Mike & Chris, but we have over 1 million dollars in merchandise that we are blowing out tomorrow and Sat. Tons of leather jacket's, sweat shirts, coats, hand bag's, shoes, boots. There is a lot of men's stuff and ton's of women's. If you haven't bought a v-day gift yet, this would be a great opportunity.

    Fri 2/13-Sat 2/14

    4900 Zambrano Street

    Commerce, CA 90040

    10am-5pm both days.

    Hope to see you there.

  2. I'm not sure what you expected from the 93 Lafleur. Probably the second worst vintage in the 90's to 92.

The best wines I've had recently were

1985 Le Pin: Awesome wine with dense red/black fruit, olive tapenade, and a hint of menthol. Really complete wine with great mid palate denisty and a killer finish.

1990 La Tache: The best burgundy I've ever had hands down.

1999 La Tache: Will rival or possibly surpass the 90 one day, but it needs several years to fill out its huge structure.

On a side note I just drank a bottle of the 2005 Sine Qua Non Atlantis Grenache that paker gave 98pts to. It sucked. Just a massive oak bomb.

  3. Take the bus an hour north to Khao Lak, rent a scooter, laugh in the face of danger on the road, and check out the incredible amount of beautiful beaches along that stretch. My favorite is accessed from a trail on the top of the hill right before town. There is a cool trail down through the forest the leads to a beautiful deserted beach. If you're into diving, Khao Lak and the similan islands have some of the best in the world.

  4. Does anybody have pics of worn in KMW jeans. I've been wearing a pair of 1980's regularly for 3 months now and have minimal wear. They're just evolving at a glacial pace. Anyone else have a similar experience? Is there light at the end of the tunnel?

  5. you're saying that because you've tried both? i'm just curious how you decided because a big part that makes the item holy grail precious is that its almost unattainable? if you tried them both then wouldn't you seek something more?

I have tried the Cheval. I actually had it next to the 49 which was showing much better. Never had the Lafleur which is why it would be my grail. Getting genuine bottles of these wines is more ellusive than most people understand. For every real bottle there are probably 25 fakes on the market.

  6. you can get hitachino at quite a few places. Last time I had it was a Momofuku in NYC. Although I've been a huge fan of Fat Tire in the past, I'm a bit tired of it. New Belgium's seasonal brews are always fun though. There two degrees below zero that they release during winter is awesome.

  7. its Boulder, CO, and of course they are different. what I meant was they both locations are well outside of the traditional denim scene (LA, NYC, and even Texas and Canada to some extent) KMW is also outsourcing all of their production and have had good results.

  8. DO NOT SHIP. Paypal can show that the funds have arrived before the money has actually cleared. This is a scam that has been happening a lot lately. Paypal will show that the money has arrived, you ship the goods, then paypal notifys you to say that his funds were insufficient. And, just never ship anything to Nigeria. No internet retailer are willing to play with this crap either.

  9. I spoke with the owner a little while ago. He said his goal was to bridge the gap between the "denim enthusiast" and the guy who wears Earnest Sewn. The denim is certainly nice, but I haven't been able to wrap my mind around the back pocket design. The company is based out in Bakersfield, CA I believe. Kind of a strange spot, but KMW is based in Boulder, CO and look what they've been able to produce.

  10. I had sushi at Jewel Bako on Tuesday, and it was pretty darn good. Especially the sea scallop with yuzu zest. However, I think yasuda is better. Masa is great too, but is a different story.
