Wow superstar, those look great. Even further encouragment for those to be my next jean. Out of interest how long are you planning on wearing them for and have you been wearing them every day?

You think 811s are too high rise and not slim enough? Wow, you must be skinny. I think the general consensus on 811s is that they're pretty slim. But to ease your fears, the softer the denim gets, the more it will drape and fit your shape. Hard to say without pics, but the fit should get better with time.
Yeah don't worry too much about the fit at the moment. When I first got mine they were pretty unconfortable for the first month after which I ended up just giving them a soak - everything was much better after that. Also, regarding the rise; I too found that a bit wierd at first but I soon got used to it and now found it quite confortable.
In short I'm sure they'll be fine.

ctazza: Very nice. The 811's gonna be my next pair for sure.
Cheers Klaas. Yeah they are great jeans. I'd never seen anything so dense and blue when I first got them! Just get ready for a long haul - these are some tough mofo's to wear in! Bring on the one year mark...

Here's the progress so far on my 811's. This weekend will be the 5 month anniversary. Going to Centre Parks to celebrate (well it's my friend's birthday really...!). Still just one soak and a machine wash at 3 months. I plan to hold out until the 6 month mark before washing again (the jeans that is!) - enjoy.

WOW...! Beatle I'm super jealous you got those eternals... The phrase 'holy grail' springs to mind.

Eternal 811 straight cut?
I presume you are asking whether they have a taper on them at all... The leg on them is pretty straight with a very slight taper from the knee down. They are pretty slim in the thighs as well.
SWEETMOFO - Thanks for the feedback dude.

WATCH:
Thanks man - these definatly seem to be more of an endurance jean than some of the other jap repros!
BEATLE:
Not so impressed with the combs so far. I'm putting the back of the knees through their paces however there hasn't been much of a loss of colour... I'll try and post some pics in the next few days

Some more progress pics after a trip back home involving plenty of biking and rock climbing, and a hectic week of building at work... Thinking of maybe giving these a wash soon as they are starting to get to that constantly wet stage!
And here are the full pics:

Cheers dude. Yeah they looks to be a similar kinda fit to mine. Did the hot washing have any effect on the shrinkage? I've only gone as high as 40 so far and they barely changed shape at all.
*btw - that wallet is nice. Red moon?

year old 811's, cross posted in evo thread.
Hey Watch,
Wow your eternals look amazing. Any chance of some pics of them being worn? Also how did you wash yours? Were they Machine or hand washes - only they seem to have lost quite a bit of indigo

sorry just looked in the evo thread and all my questions have been answered.....

Wow they look amazing. The fade is so natural looking. How long have you been wearing them for and how many washes have they had?

and eternals look excellent, tazza
six month holdouts are arbitrary bullshit
thanks very much. Yeah I agree these seem to be the kind of jean which favours more frequent washing. They seem to just fade quicker every time I wash them. I'll hopefully hold out anoth 2-3 month before the next wash and then start washing them every month. Bring on eternal holy grail status....!
if only those bastards made long enough inseams...
lol... I know, I was pretty amazed by the length of the leg. I don't know if any of the other models come in longer leg lengths... Maybe the eternal x bears...? It's wprth a look as the denim is so so good!

Here are my eternal 811's after about 3 1/2 months. They've been worn pretty hard, normaly 6-7 days a week. I gave them a warmish soak at 1 month and then their first machine wash at just over 3 months. I'm pretty happy with the way they're going so far....

when you washed, did they shrink? how much shrinkage should I expect above the one-wash state they arrive in?
did you soak them when you got them or wore out of the box?
No I didn't wash them when I got them. However the only shrinkage I have experienced is the denim shrinking back to how it was when I first got the jeans. I'm sure if you machine wash them (my only wash to speak of is a hot soak) they will shrink a bit however the one-wash process will take care of 99% of the shrinkage. Also I found that after I gave them a wash they stretched out a bit more.
To sum all that up - if they fit you well now they will always fit you well.
Hope this helps

Quality fit, I've been wanting to get a pair of 811's for a while but I keep getting stung for tax on JP imports. Could you let me know the details for parachutes?
Hi Gem,
Cheers for the compliment. The email address for parachutes is [email protected] Hajime is always very quick to reply and will mark your items as low value gift = no tax! Good luck getting your eternals - they're amazing..!

I've tried mixing a powdered starch to use in a spray gun but all I seem to end up with is a white stain on my denim (not too many remarks please ). I mixed it as per the instructions; one heaped spoon of powder into two spoons of water, mix to a paste and then add to hot water. The first time i tried it with a weaks solution and it did nothing and the second, much stronger mix, when dried, added no extra stiffness and just left a big tide mark...
Is anyone able to point out what I'm doing wrong?
Many thanks in advance for your help.

I don't think starch is necessary for Eternals. If you, like me, bought them one-wash, they might not seem as stiff as other raw denim.
But I think the creases in the thigh and knee hold up really well with this type of denim. I think it's because the denim is structured vertically - it folds easier vertically, but the horizonal creases are well set.
Yeah I got them one-wash also. I was just thinking about starching them a bit to get the creases set nice and solidly as I also plan to wash them every 2 months or so. Maybe I'll wait unti after the first wash...
The point re: the stucturing of the denim - is this what gives the denim the insane vertical fading? How is this different in comparison to say LVC denim?
Many thanks for your help.

This is a question to all you eternal wearers:
How have you all been washing your jeans (intervals, temp, machine or not, soap etc.) and also have any of you been using startch at all?
