  1. thanks, my camera doesnt get the colour right at all but in real life these jeans look alot like your eternals in terms of fading, strange how your right hand eternals show similiarities of my left hand sdas..

Yeah I've often thought that. The vertical fading on the 00x's is awsome and they seem to produce a really nice 'vintage' fade as oppose to hyper contrast. I'm really thinkig about a pair of these as my next project. I just hope they will have some with the old arc's in stock after crimbo....!

  2. a few questions i hope some of you eternal owners can answer:

is BiG in nyc the only place to get these jeans in the US? Its either that or proxy service from japan, right? How much do these jeans normally run if ordered from japan?

Also, what is the inseam on these, say for a size 32. Thanks for all the help, and I have to agree, these jeans look amazing and some people here have put up some great pics.

I got mine shipped by a proxy to England and they ended up being about £110 ish (about $220). The good thing about getting them from Japan is they still have the red tab however you can't try them on like at BiG - depends whether you feel happy with just taking the plunge.

Also the inseam for a 32 waist is 33 inches

  3. Great idea for a thread! (Y)

eternal 811 - buy true to size for a slim fit

LVC '47 (raw) - size up 2 for a relaxed fit

LVC '37 (raw) - I would advise buying true to size as the legs are super loose. The waist will stretch out

  4. Also I second Panda's idea to get the critch of the jeans reinforced. A similar thing happened to mine and I just stiched some old denim on the inside of the crotch and backstitched over the hole. Might be worth getting the seem stitching re-done as well as that looks like its coming apart. Seems to be a problem with the all cotton thread they use. A 10cm section on mine rotted and fell apart due to sweat... A bit of a pain!

  5. They may have more time on them because I bought them secondhand from someone on sufu.

Yeah that might explain it. Regardless though they look awsome. There's a great range of colours and the lap fades seem to be more defined than normal. Do you know how many times they have been washed?

  6. WOW... Everyone's eternals seem to be blossoming for the festive season...! Some great wear in the last few posts.

Party pooped nice jeans and belt combo - looking forward to seeing them evolve

Topic what have you been doing to get so much wear in just 3.5 months?!?! :o

Take 5 love the back pocket and the combs on those - any chance of some outdoor photos?

keep up the good work guys.

  7. i'm interested too. did he bid on fake eternals?

Yeah I'm pretty sure he did. The patch looks to be poor quality and the selvedge isn't right; the red line should do vertically down and not be woven into the twill like on those. Also the colour doesn't look as deep as it should on a new pair of eternals. It's almost as though the denim hasn't been dipped as many times as it should.

The inside tag however looks almost identical to the real deal. The only difference is that it is missing the 2nd tag in Japanese and that "made in Japan" text is different.

It is however a small plus point over what I believe to be a pretty poor fake.

  8. Yeah I can imagine them being pretty damn warm! Not jeans for the summer. The construction of them looks top notch as well - all the stitching and around the crotch looks in very good condition for 6 months. I'm seriously thinking about having a search for a pair of these. It would be cool to see some fit pics along with some outdoor photos if possible.

  9. NO, please dont wash more frequently. Stay strong, stay true...

Lol.... I sense the angst in that comment. Yeah I'll see how they fade further in the coming months and take it from there. In the mean-time I need to get fixing the crotch!

  10. I've posted these on the eternal thread but I thought here would be a fitting place for them as well...

I'm back home in York for a couple of days and have finaly found time to take some decent(ish) photos of the jeans thus far. The colours on these photos are pretty accurate; some are a bit bluer than in real life but unfortunately they are the best I could get in such a flat light. The contrast however has come up pretty well and most of the details have shown up.

    Enjoy!

Hope you like the story so far. I just can't wait to see them in another 6 months...

  11. Thanks everyone for your comments.

Watchman - yeah I'm always surprised by how dark they still are for 6 months. I'm thinking of maybe starting to wash them every month to get some of the colour out...

Beatle - yeah you've just got to love the fallin on eternals

Sont - the first wash was at one month and was a warm soak to get rid of some food stains. The other two have been at 3 and 6 months in the machine. I did them both at 40 on a regular cotton cycle and used travel wash as detergent (no bleach or other nasties)

Braidkid - yeah it's kinda scarily clean at the moment. My parents have just moved into a new appartement and I'm just hoping that I'm not the first person to drop any dark substance on there...

  13. Wow... A really well faded pair of nudies. I love how they're quite a light blue but still have strong fades. And the pockets look superb as well!

I would second Beatle's suggestion on the eternals - I think they would be a great fit for you. Be prepared for a long slog before you get fades anywhere near to your Nudies though. Mine are at 6 months and still super dark. If you need measurements for a 31" pair of 811's just pm me and I'll send them your way.

  14. The 811's are finaly dry! I'm amazed by how dark they still are - they seem to hold all the indigo on the areas that don't get wear and then gradualy loose it on the thighs and any folds. The lap fades, thighs and sides of the knees have come out pretty well but for some reason the combs don't seem to have done much. Should look pretty good after loads more washes though when they get that vintage, multi-layered comb effect.

Anyway, there hasn't really been any sun in Birmingham so all I have for pics at the moment are these two. I'll try and do some more of the whole thing when I go home over the weekend.
