I'll be headed to Buenos Aires for a while. I was hoping to get a pair of custom quoddy-esque moccasins made. Anyone have any leather recommendations? is it even worth the trouble?

you both were very helpful. Thanks!
anyone else want to weigh in?
Is the richmond district primarily asian?
Would a goofy-looking white dude with a beard feel/look out of place.
It sounds awesome with the groceries/trains/library/etc.
I'm not necessarily looking to be in the center of a thriving night life, but I would like good transportation access, some cheap food and a place to get a few beers nearby.
thanks again. and anyone else keep the info coming.
edit: this might be out of left field, but does anyone know of any good pickup soccer games/leagues/fields?

is renting a car necessary when visiting SF? or will the public transportation take care of my needs. I'll be checking out different neighborhoods, since I'll be moving to the city at the end of the year.
on that note, any recommendations on the best places to live? I'll most likely be looking for a 1 or 2 bedroom, under $2k/month and pet friendly. Help me out.
edit: was thinking of richmond or sunset, due to proximity to ocean/park. But since I have been to the city since I could walk I really have no clue.
