I found an impeccable recent season Brooks Brothers coat today while thrifting. It fits perfectly, shoulders, arm length, length, and all.

However, im sure its a womans coat.

Theres no real way to tell though, to me it just looks like a plain, high quality macintosh/trench length coat with buttons. The only clue I have are that the buttons are sort of small, do you think larger buttons might emasculate it a bit? It would be a very, very cheap fix and the coat is great!

girls coats usually have buttons on the left side of the jacket and button holes on the right vs the other way around for the fellas.

i 've had experience of buyin a pair of diors from browns and got charged 96 cdn for custom fees. From then on, i only purchase online if the seller or online store is willing to mark the item as gift. Theres no way around it unless the seller is willing to help out.

Marking it as gift only works for items less than $60. If its more than that it gets treated the same as normal.

I'm new to denim, so I have some questions/concerns.

I recently bought a pair of Naked and Famous Skinny Guy Silk Denim. How long should I wait before washing the jeans? How should I go about washing them? They've gotten wrinkled, should I iron them, or leave them be?

Just wear them and dont worry about ironing. Wait as long as you can before washing.

On an aside, I have these too and they dont fade amazingly well in my experience. They also have a lot of dye on them.

I just measured my size 30 greys again

waist: 33

rise:9.75

hem: 7.25

knee: 8

they stretched out about 1 size in the first hour of wear but havent stretched anymore. I would say to size down 1 from your normal size for the greys and true to size for the silks.

so if i wear a size 30 in APC ns

should i get a 31 or 32?

Heres pictures of size 30 average joe heavy dry (left), size 30 grey selvage (middle) and 31 silk skinny guys (right) for comparison. Im about 5'10, 155lbs

You probably cant tell from the pics but the silks are actually the tightest at the waist of the 3. The jeans stretch because of the elastane but where the fabric folds at the waist doesnt stretch at all. They are still comfortable but thats something they could fix. Heres a pic.

Would the skinnyguy silk denim jeans fade like regular raw denim? When theyre brand new are they rigid/starchy or soft because of the silk?

Im after something that is skinny but not as skinny as my 28 new cures (they were a bit too small and ended up being skin tight) so i was thinking maybe 29 or 30 in the skinny guys or 29 wierd guys. My true waist is 31.

The silk denim looks pretty interesting but theyre probably little too slim i might go for 29 wierd guys. The 7inch knee worries me; the wierd guys might be better suited to my build. Im 5'11 and about 160, my thighs arent small but theyre not massive either.

Im about 5'10 and 155 and wear the silk in 31. I could have gone with 30's but they would have been a bit too tight in the waist. They dont stretch out the same way as 100% cotton jeans do. The stretch material in the silk let them fit comfortably but they shrink back when you take them off. The stretching isnt permanent. 29;s would probably be too tight.

I also have the grey weird guys in 30.

do the measurements match up to the ones on BiG?

i saw on another forum some guy said his didnt match BiG's measurements

I have size 30's that I soaked because the silk skinny guys that I had bled for months without soaking. The greys didnt lose any colour from soaking and I only wore them for 1 day but the measurements are as follows:

waist: 33

rise:9.75

hem: 7.25

knee: 8.25

I wouldnt be surprised if the waist stretched out a bit more. They were real tight when I first got them but after wearing for a day fit well.

I just got a pair of the greys, love them. I'd post pics but somebody stole my phone a couple of days ago and that was my only camera.

they most likely strech and inch or so I would go with size 31 soak them in warm water for 30-45 minutes.They will most likely turn into a 30 and then they will stretch back to a 31 after wearing them a few times.

Hey, I was looking to buy some hoboken corrosions but when I looked on the julian red online store there isnt that much info on them. I read through this thread as well.

Do they stretch much in the waist? And are they 100% cotton? Im assuming they are true to size. I wear a size 30 in nudie average joes, 31's in ande whall grifters and 31 in naked and famous skinny guys (silk ones).

Ive moved the pockets on a pair of johnbulls I have and there was some discolouration but that went away after a few wears. The holes where the thread was left some marks but you cant tell anymore after some wear.

This sounds sarcastic, but it's a sincere question to the collective wisdom here. Why don't folks talk about Timberlands? They seem to be really popular with folks in general (non SuFu-ers). I know why I'm not crazy about them, but what do others think? After all, we talk about so many other brands and styles of boots...

I have a pair of timberlands and they arent as nice as the boots in this thread but they are extremely comfortable to wear.
