  4. Saving up for a Rick Owens coat I spotted the other day at a store here in Amsterdam, I have decided to let go of some of my recently acquired shoes. All of them are in perfect condition (the Gianni Barbato boots and oxfords are brand new) and were released during S/S '08.

Gianni Barbato black ankle boots size 43 (US 10) collection S/S2008

Bought these black signature ankle boots a couple of weeks ago in a high-end shoe store in Amsterdam. For those of you who are not familiar with the brand: Barbato shoes are handcrafted in Italy and come in exotic- and processed leathers. These specific boots are made out of high-quality calf leather and will last for many years to come. Never worn and come new in box.

Retails for € 500 (~800 USD), letting them go for 250 € (400 USD) including shipping within Europe. For intercontinental shipping, please revert to me for a quote.

Gianni Barbato brown crocodile-embossed leather oxfords size 42.5 (US 9.5) collection S/S2008

Last but not least I put these Gianni Barbato brown crocodile embossed oxfords for sale. Shoes are marked a size 42.5 (US 9.5), but easily fit a 43 - 43.5 (US 10 - 10.5).

They are made out of stirdy calf leather which was crocodile embossed. This gives an edgy feel and look to the classic oxford model. Never worn and brand new in box.

Retails for 500 € (~ 800 USD) and letting them go for 250 € (400 USD) including shipping within Europe. For intercontinental shipping, please revert to me for a quote.

    size: 42.5 (US 9.5)

  5. While exploring Amsterdam you should definitely pay a visit to the Jordaan-area, and in particular the Noordermarkt and Westermarkt (around the corner from where hurdles of tourists are waiting to enter the Anne Frank house).

And yeah, it sounds cliché, but rent a fucking bike: not that you will need it to cross huge distances (amsterdam still remains a village in my perspective), but just to catch that ultimate feeling of freedom and mobility which will bring you all corners of this - very versatile - place.

And don't spend your time in the Kalverstraat: will take too much of your dedicated time: 9 straattjes (9 little streets) is much more pleasant to walk around, which consists of small boutiques, wonderful brasseries and restaurants and breath-taking 17th and 18th century buildings

    Enjoy your time!

  6. Mike,

I think I might have not fully clarified myself: Frakfurt, Dusseldorf and Cologne are all located within 100 km from each other and worth to visit. Berlin is - as I agree with you - a league on its own but located on the other side of the country....

So from a convenience point of view, I dont think these picks are too bad after all...

  7. If you'd like to make a trip through 3-4 different countries, I could recommend you to visit the following places (both from a cultural and geographically advantageous point of view)

The Netherlands: Amsterdam (do I need to say more?!), Utrecht, The Hague (as Tisswat already mentioned, you could complete the Amsterdam sightseeing within 2 days and the latter within 1 day)

    Than traveling down to......

Belgium: Antwerp, Brussels (in comparison to others, I have been living there the past year, and I absolutely love the historical sites, art scene and the way "carpe diem" is integrated within its people's thoughts and lifestyle), Brugge (which is the most amazing medieval village/city I have ever visited: not cheap but definitely worth a penny)

From Brussels only 1.5 hours to Paris by Thalys.....

    France: Lille, Paris, Rennes

Good train connections (i.e. Thalys or TGV) between Paris and the Ruhrgebied in Germany

    Germany: Frankfurt, Cologne, Dusseldorf

Might you decide to visit e.g. The Netherlands and Belgium, than don't hesitate to contact me for sightseeing,- shopping and other useful tips.

    Cheers

    Divo
