  1. Heller's Cafe also has a very similar jacket on their current line, front pockets are bit different, but otherwise almost identical.

Would you happen to have a picture of that Freewheelers guy Snake? Curious to see what they look like..Also, in case someone has missed it, they now have their own website, which makes following their production way easier.

Archival Clothing had lots of photos from Inspiration..

  2. hhmmm can see where your coming from but these are ripped up from manual labour and wear not for fashion!

Do you know the actual story behind these jeans( their previous owner etc..)? Or are you only assuming that wear is from manual labour? Big fan of vintage denim myself, but something being vintage doesnt always necessarily mean it was "work wear". I've read cool kids in the 50's used to beat up their Levi's with baseball bats and leave em outside so sunshine would speed up their fading. Not saying that was the case with this pair, but sometimes people seem to forget that "fashion" has been here for ages...

I like your blog btw, and really appreciate all your contributions to this thread.

  3. I think it says on that rakuten site that they will shrink approximately 2cm both waist&length.

edit:Hm,seller says tagged 30 measures >34, but according to that rakuten site it's 32,8, I wonder which one is closer to truth.

  4. I have an extra invitation to this 2nd My Freedamn! Reunion party which will be held on Friday 4pm-9pm, so if somebody wants it, you can PM me. If I understood it correctly, it only includes that Reunion party, nothing more. Im in Europe, so Im not even 100% sure if it will get to US in time, but I guess I could try shipping it...

  5. I've seen those reprod EWMI jackets before in Japanese mags... had no idea who made them.

I think there are several companies reproducing EW jackets, like Jelado for example. And when it comes to pricing, I think originals are rarely more expensive than Japanese reproductions, though some models will definitely go for big bucks.

  6. Thanks onehundy!

    12. Pistol --- 8 inch engineer, black hh, Single Midsole Natural, Vibram 2021 sole(Sand color), 50's toebox, no lining, Rolled Top, pull strap on back, Brass roller buckle, no logo (if possible).

Hm, doesnt look like black horsehide to me, Im pretty sure its Horween Chromexcel Ink Blue leather, but could be my screen playing tricks on me..

  7. I'm definitely interested in buying a pair of Julian boots. If there is a group buy, would it still be possible to have em made to your own measurements, or would it have to be even sizes like those for Rising Sun? And I assume group buy also means that every shoe would have to be similar in details?

I tried googling and came up with this(?):

Julian Boots 1801 Avenue of the Stars, Suite 1203B

  8. Well, mrswitch, you were right, he didn't bother responding; I'll try again. You don't happen to have a phone number for him, do you?

He sent an email to a group of email addresses yesterday, explaining that his website has had some techical problems etc....You can see some more photos here www.maximrie.com and his cell number is 808 280 0614(I figured its approriate to post his number here in public thread, but if moderation feels otherwise, I can send it out via pvt msg aswell).

  9. really they will? how? call them up? or what email? ive got some horsehide

I visited Wesco Factory last week, and that is how I understood it(I guess there is a chance that the person helping me had wrong information). I know they have made a pair for some German customer...But I was told it needs to be thick enough (5oz, if I remember correctly) and good quality. Also, even though you provide the leather yourself, price will still be the same.

I think the only Japan exclusive thing is that Narrow Engineer last with higher heel, and that exclusiveness will probably only last a year or two more...(not 100% sure on this though).

Anyone here who owns a pair of made to measure Wescos? Do you wear them with Wesco insoles or some other brand(Scholl/Spenco/Birkenstock...)? I was measured there, but I am still bit unsure if they will fit me properly if I choose to wear them with different insoles? Any info appreciated!

  10. You'd think at that price, Narrow's would be made of horsehide, but they were are with black fire. Cycle Boss' are made with horsehide.

That's correct, black fire leather. I dont know if you already knew, but Wesco will make horsehide boots as well, if you provide them with proper horsehide.

  11. ^No, neither baker's or white's charges extra for this service

Hm, I was considering to buy myself a pair of Whites Oxford couple of months ago and first approached Bakers. Since I wanted them made to measurements, I asked if it would cost me something extra. I am almost certain that they replied saying : they recommend going with stock sizes, but if I insisted on getting custom, it would cost me 100$ for the first time, and after that it would be free of charge.

After this little debate here I wanted to know if my mind played a trick on me, or did they perhaps change their policy. I emailed Baker's to make sure and this is how they replied:

"White's normally doesn't charge any extra to determine your size based on

    your measurements.

Please mail us your measurements to the below address and we can have

White's get your size. Once they determine your size, we will contact you to

    confirm."

Couple of hours later they send me another one:

"Send us your measurements, and we will forward them to White's. They will

determine if you need a special pattern or if you can go with a stock

pattern. If a new pattern needs to be made, there may be an upcharge."

  12. ).

also for sizing, they're pretty tts, but I'd still send your tracings in to bakershoe.com and take advantage of their free shipping. It's cheaper overall than going directly through white's.

If I remember correctly Baker's will charge you 100$ extra if you want your White's made to your own tracings (if they dont already have it), whereas its free if ordering directly from Whites. Im not 100%sure on this, but this is the answer I remember receiving from Whites/Bakers.

  13. I'm especially loving those black cordovan munson boots. Anyone have an idea what the last on those puppies might be? As usual they are probably very pricey...

Could it be "Munson last", which is often used on military boots (only a guess though)?
