DUM, where did you get your film developed? did you do a mail-in developing service? everytime i get my film developed (at the local fucking ritz camera) it looks like shit.

anybody know any places near DC or where i can possibly mail my film to that will develop my rolls with quality? (and offer cross-processing as an option)

check out kodaygallery.com. you can send your film to them, they develop it and send it back. pretty reasonable price. and they publish everything for you on an online account to make posting a snap.

mike, what kind of camera and lens are you using to shoot your berlin pictures with? did you take multiple lenses?

nice car pic. I think what really makes it good is the environment the car is it; the bright and clean exterior of the car is a nice contrast to the dark, semi-cluttered warehouse.

i'm looking to buy my first DSLR too but my budget is limited to about $800. Anyone shoot with Pentax? Anyone? Anyone? I'm looking at the K100D

And where is a website explaining lenses? I feel so overwhelmed with all the numbers and inadequate as a photographer becuase I don't understand

Anne Leibowitz is amazing. She somehow manages to capture entire pesonalities in a single image.

What do you guys do as far as color processing? Is it worth it to take it to a higher end place or just take it to the local 1hour place?

its not like i'll be using the prints for more than proof bc the negatives will get scanned anyway. so...

most 1 hour places are fine unless you want enlargements greater than 8 x 10's. beware of costco (if you have one near you). I've heard too many horror stories of lost rolls of film from that place.

do the same rules apply for dSLR's? turn down the ISO to decrease the noise?
