Going back this Dec to Hong Kong! Can't wait at all. Going to pick up some tailor shirts and shoes before heading to Sydney, and maybe a Yamaha keyboard ^^. No electronics, however tempting! What is the best place for Adidas sneakers? Just ordinary Adidas shoes.
And where would you go for 'formal' shoes for around 800-1000 HKD?

Thinking of buying http://reviews.famousfootwear.com/1115red/1017037/nike-mens-articulate-7-0-slide-reviews/reviews.htm
I know there are proxy services, but I would prefer to buy a retailer that has international delivery. Any places where I can find that? Or where in HK i can buy these?

not even close to the cheap-o old software i played with as a kid, but awesome suggestions. thank you.
What did you use? Those apps (more expensive ones) are extremely good imo....can't see what they are missing,

Does anyone know of a good program where you can compose your own sheet music and get some sort of playback? I remember way back in the day in middle school or something dicking around in the computer labs where you could basically set your time signature, key, and tempo, and then just decide what type of note you want and what instrument plays it, place it on the clef, and then you could play it back. I remember everything sounding like shit, but damn, that would be a great way to start putting music together.
Sibelius and Finale are the big ones,
I use Sibelius 5 but you dont need that expensive ones. I think one of the cheaper Finale products would be great for you.

Finale and Sibelius imo are same level

I see, if the Macbook Air's footpring isnt too big, go for it. Its not uber fast, but will do the job done and you wont have to live with using 2 different OSes.
11.1"

I am just waiting for a portable mac with a 12" or smaller screen =)

When/where did you buy them?

Wow those^ notebooks are fucking hideous.
I admit to that they arent nice looking. But besides Sony, there are not many nice looking small laptops out there. In my view.

I want two (2) machines
one for mobile computing
and the other for everything else
let's assume I buy the 15 inch pro
what would be the ideal counterpart
Macbooks are NOT portable honestly, i have one. And would not call it portable, so do not get it.
The 9" laptop with Atom, they are light, and cheap. This would be, Asus E901,
The Atom laptops will be light and have a small footprint and will enable you to watch some 720P movies, dvix movies, browsing and word.
Then you have the types of Mac Air that are light, but are with a big footprint (as big as the macbook in footprint) but still light.
Now, the Macbook Pro spec wise is overkill for you,but you get a nice design in terms of laptops. (Some say they will be redesigned in September...go to www.macrumors.com buyer's guide). But I think it is a nice buy if you dont mind the overstep in price from Macbooks as you get a bigger screen.
Macbook Pro + Asus 901 (Or any of the 9 inch laptops with Atom CPU...(Just avoid Acer). Also avoid HP as their mini laptop uses a different CPU which isnt as good but they are going to release one with Atom. Atom is the way to go)
But if you think a 11.1" laptop is better for your portable needs, then Lenovo, and Sony have great options (bit pricey but nice design)
Example of a 11.1 inch lenovo
Is a 7 inch laptop on the AMD chipset with touch screen sensitivity, you can flip the screen so it becomes a tablet.
There are also smaller Laptops, that are 5.6 inch screen, but the keyboard is completely cramped.

Macbook pros are not portable, have you thought how big of a foot print you want your laptops to have?
Sony has some nice looking small foot print laptops.

What about outside the US? HK or Sweden...?

London for the next 4-5 days will be bad. And not too much better for Paris. London has good sides such as Musicals which is hard to match in Europe.....When are you thinking of going?
And hehehe, cool that you are from Italy. Florence is great. Especially with the girlfriend.

What do you like? I know London is amazing and so is Paris. You might want to consider Florence, Venice or Rome in Italy as well. What do you like to do?

It's convenient. Right now though, I would definitely check out smaller parks.
