The PBJ XX-007 are size 32 and have been soaked once and worn no more than 50 times, little fade on the thighs ass by the belt loops, and on the heels.. asking $200

i tried them on at BiG yesterday and ordered them for when they come in mid April. $261.74 shipped, i obviously loved them, and yes they were slubby.

the soak looks great poly!!
ive been neglecting this thread, im still sporting my pair factory stock.
poly, did your waist get a little more forgiving after the soak, and how do you think a shorter soak would effect the denim?
stoked you got your hands on a pair, BiG im assuming?

all of those are synthetic indigo, purple selvedge is the national color of japan (it has something to do with pride/herritage) and they use it on the natural indigo to represent their herritage.

i feel like if you're in between sizes, size down at least 1. these stretch a decent amount, at least my oni's did when i had them...I'm actually considering either a 28 or 29 in the 19oz. I'm a 30
sizing down 2? good luck poly. [the legs would fit nice] but the 19 oz's waist is somewhat unforgiving and might really start to kill after a few hours unless you are wearing them around your belly button. in that case go for the 28... and mine havent streched more than .5" in 2 weeks now and i got 30 because im 31 so they are pretty unruley and awesome at the same time in the same aspect.

yeah i know about the ai-001 i tried them on. the onis may look streaky in some pics without them being worn, but they look awesome when worn IMO... isnt that all that matters?

You might be alright with the soak since you sag. It'll take more than one soak to reach it's full shrinkage. But it might hit right at the ankles. I don't think I'm gonna soak mine, 'cause I can barely fit my fat ass in them.
haha i feel exactly the same way, i dont really sag and the waist couldnt get any smaller, i have been sagging them for the sole purpose of giving the waist a little stretchin, and im going to give it a few more weeks and see how it goes, before even being tempted to take a bath with them, btw did you get the natural onis at BiG?

do you remember on saturday some 2 sketchy kids walking past you on like lafayette and blurting out superfuture, because that was me and i think that was you, and i wasnt even a member on the fourm, the friend who i was with showed me this thread/website in general earlier that morning... i found it funny

Hey derelicte, I think I was at BiG when you copped these. Gordon was hemming them. They looked great when you bought them. It probably just needs a soak. IMO, tapered jeans look butt ugly and should only be on dudes that wear oxford shirts and penny loafers. I think you can only taper the inseam anyway, 'cause anything else would fuck up the selvedge.
coleslaw i bought them the previous weekend just dropped them off at BiG last saturday to have gordan cut 2.5 inches off and make the new seam, he is an artist
polly you have me eager to soak, but im going to wait at least another week

that selvege example makes alot of sense and seems practical but i doubt i get them tapered.
dont worry everyone im not treating these jeans like a ancient japanese garment that needs to be perserved im just curious about what i could do to them and what i shouldnt do.
thanks alot guys

yeah of course the inseam, but im done with that idea, id rather soak them in a geyser or a natural warm water spring of osaka, and wear them immeadiately after or during the process, maybe il fly to japan and do it this weekend. my only concern was the ink running, coleslaw thanks for all the info, and i dont really plan on washing them unless something happens. [proceeding to knock on wood]
did anyone do anything try any soaking on this or the natural indigo already, if so tell me the thread or your expirience with it.

percy - i bought them a size small already, look at the waist they are snug to say the least, almost pinching...
therefore
polly - i dont think soaking them would be a good idea unless i wanted to give them to a 12 year old, plus i heard they were very limited.
im done with the whole idea of altering them anymore than i did... not worth it.
do you guys think i could wear them in the shower or something so the waist wouldnt shrink?
if you guys have any suggestions just let me know...

yeah i just need some new sneaks now... i ordered a pair of navy suede vans slip ons... hopefully they tie everything together.
richter - ironic.
i dont want a skinny cheap monday kinda of look, i tied on 90 pairs of jeans the day i bought my onis like 25 different companys, these were the best
il just stop staring at the ankles
0 -
well the waist is already rediculously tight, im fine with the fit in that aspect, il post more pics in a few more weeks if they start to wear
thanks

i love them the way they are i just didnt know if would be a good idea or not, and if it is unheard of or not. and no i havent soaked them and dont plan on it for a longgg time

i know a decent amount about denim but i wasnt sure if there was an offical title for the hand dyed...
i guess they are just "the oni blue natural hand dyed indigo with purple selvedge"
thanks pg2g
