I got a query on LVC range for chicks.

maybe not the flavour of this particular thread, but here goes

My Wife would really likes the LVC 701's.

I think its the 1937 issues that are in the new range.

but she hates the buckle back.

question 1

was there ever a 50's issue LVC for women?

she would never pay for new ones (frugal), and we can only get them online anyhow being in Australia..

so i trawl ebay and yahoo.jp and get various results in searching.

I wouldn't know where to start to Authenticate a real pair.

She really likes the ones like on Ms Monroe in Clash by night.

Is there a SuFu user with any tips on what to look out for in tags, labels, rivetting and selvedge for this era ? Pink Selvedge? Leather patch etc etc?

could you suggest a 50's repro alternatve ?

High rise, without the humongous pockets on the front?

I have absolutely no hesitation when it comes to dealing with Hide-san.

okay...

heres one on shrinkage.

i went and tried on an LVC 1967 type 3 new today.

it was great. maybe not everyones taste.

Raw, not too light weight.

it had the usual shrinkage warning on the leg on a brown sticker that you get on the jeans.

saying "for jackets go one size up"

but then...

the pocket had its own cardboard tag that said "pre-shrunk" 1% shrinkage could be expected.

it was all misleading.

anyone had any experience with the new LVC jackets and shrinkage?

any info greatly appreciated

evrything else is perfect.

just the width is snug on an 8,

judging by what you say, a few weeks and the should be perfectly fine.

they are just super tough when new and i wondered if there would be just a little give.

If i go a size up the ankles are loose, length is out. etc..

thanks heaps for the advice.

definately will save me 30-50 pounds.

I could get them sent to my friend in Wuppertal and he could bring them over next time i see him.

did anyone get any stretching out of a pair of 875 or 8131 etc?

i tried on new ones today and am stuck for size.

a US9 is a bit loose on the length and ankle and feels really clunky

a US8 is just snug on the width of my foot and cause they are new it feels like a brick wall.

will the width give any in these?

the smaller size was perfect, if not for the snug width.

any info would be greatly appreciated
