Am married, was joking. Please don't tell my wife I wrote that!...
^Deadpan, digging the style! IMO leather gloves are better protection than no gloves! What kind of helmet is that?
The helmet is a late 50's/ 60's Everoak Racemaster/ Clubmaster (much much smaller than the profile of a Davida, and - although it fits me like a glove - I would guess offers a lot less protection than one as well. Does look cool though, and is technically still legal in the UK due to it having a British Standards Kite mark (such a design would never pass the current tests)

What do you mean by parallax issues? Screw-M adapter shouldn't affect anything; but rangefinder focusing does take some getting used to. Parallax error refers to the fact that what you see in the viewfinder is not exactly what the lens sees; the RF frame should move to compensate.
In any case, the straight M4 is probably the finest mechanical Leica, even if there is a problem it's worth fixing.
Many years ago I had a voigtlander screw>m adapter that allowed me to focus past infinity (to infinity... and beyond...), so seems like the screw> M adapter could have an effect? But Paul is totally right. M4 is a solid camera, and worth fixing.

x post from the leather threads - thought some in here might want to see too...
The next is something I picked up...some goldtop leather motorcycle gloves. Obviously as you can see by modern standards that offer very little protection to hands, but they fit me perfectly, and almost feel like you aren't wearing any gloves at all...
detail of the 'NEWEY' zipper
and in situ with 60's Everoak...

x post from show us your leather...sorry no before pics for obvious reasons...
"Not really sure that these fit in too well here, but not sure where else to post?
A couple of things that I wanted to share...
First up is a kids (dress up) waistcoat. I understand that my father bought me this in an antique fair in the 80's. Going by the colour combo, details etc. I would assume this might date from 1920's-1940's. It has great sentimental value obviously these days, and spends most of it's life hanging on the wall, but my 2 year old daughter will most probably want to wear it at some point soon...
This is the front...you can see one of the pocket is hanging on by a few threads....most of the stitching on this is wearing out...
The back...this you can still just about see would have been patent at one point...now old and cracked..
detail of back/ front...
button...
and this I love...you can see the original tone of the fringing where the dirt/ sun has not yet been able to discolour it...
and behind the pocket where the original off white leather is still intact

17oz LHT. they are the previous (I think better looking) version than BIG sells now. They are still on 2nd though (they have the 'new' - looks lighter blue- version and the version I have)
Are they heavy weight denim? how many oz?0 -
Hey,
I'm a 32 in sugarcane. They fit me well. I suspect these will be the same? I am more worried about them stretching out too much. Will they shrink from 16.25?
Thanks
Hmmm...depends really.. they will shrink, but they also stretch. I wear a 34 in SDA (103 & 101) and can (just about) fit into my size 33 Jins after allot of wear and about 10 washes...but I'd be allot more comfy in a size 34 now. I think they stretch less and less as they get older if that makes sense. I would say these will shrink and stretch between a true 32 and a true 33 for a while, and after lots of wear prob settle down to a 32ish. Hope that helps.

Pretty sure no one in the Air Force has worn anything but black low quarters since we were the Army Air Corp. Navy wears brown.Just curious, what makes them USAF Officer's shoes? Thanks
Thanks guys - they were sold to me as such, so never really thought to check, so they are more than likely USN then?

Aero Leather (I believe) gabardine A-2. Talon Zipper. Thinking about letting this jacket and and the shoes go unfortunately, but I just can't ustify having stuff like this around that never gets worn...
And some bonus pics of some (tried on once by me at least) USAF Officers Low quater shoes...

Not really looking better with age so much (as I have only tried them once in 2 years!) but thought i'd share anyhow. Gonna have to let these go soon I think so PM me if intersted before I put them on the market...

lube it or lose it. also nobody seems to be able to help me .
Do you mean the rangefinder is off (focus is incorrect) or off vertical (bright spot is above/ below producing double image but vertically), or parallax (rangefinder focuses correctly at points but drifts out at extremes or one end of the focus?

Thanks!
Unfortunately he Died in 83, so they were lost i'm sure, but at some point i'll try and find some more pics of them - not a lost cause as I always remember him wearing them - especially with jeans...and socks.
Holy shit, your dad's sandals are amazing.I mean, your dad's everything is amazing, but I really want to see those sandals up close.

In response to a request, waist measures 16.25 inches unstretched. (RAW). In my experience these shrink/ stretch differently to RHT. I have a pair of 33 that I can still fit (I take a 34 in most stuff and have a true waist of around 35). Just depends how slim you want the fit. Therefore, these will fit a true 32 up to a true 34 depending on how much you like your balls.

Hey Hollows...saw this the other day:
"
Chambrays by McCoys have been using fabric whereby the fibres texture and dye is uneven. The result is a stunning cloth with a dramatic grain produced especially for McCoys. They produced the black version for the spring collection and the results are incredible."
