  1. I have a number of methods to carry water, from the fanny pack/belt style to handheld strap style to backpack and I have pretty much stopped using anything but the Salomon Skin Pro 3 1.5 litre backpack. I keep it loaded with Stinger Waffles, GU gels, keys, money, salt pills and mountain pass at all times so I am ready for anything - if only to help out others who run with me who have bonked and need some fuel.

Having said that, I have been after a Geigerrig Cadence pack for some time now.

It is a pressurized water pack which means that you can put filtration in the line which means I can refill from natural water sources. There were a number of times this year where we ran out of water (or would have had a lot more to drink) on adventure runs had I been able to filter on the go.

From the website: "The award-winning pressurized Geigerrig Hydration System allows you to spray water to hydrate, share, clean, cool, etc.--anything you need.  The pressurization enables convenient in-line plug-and-play filtration for on-the-go access to natural fresh water sources.  When you are done, simply flip your Hydration Engine inside out and place it on the top shelf of the dishwasher for easy cleaning and drying.  The RIG Cadence is a lightweight, low-profile vest that can be used for anything your heart desires.  Plenty of convenient storage for your phone, keys, and treats."

  2. I destroyed my SS13 5" shorts after one summer of running. WHAT THE FUCK/

goddamn made in japan shit quality + goddamn thighs = nike/mikey fail

That sucks. I have found my gear has stood up well - especially considering I wash it after every wear. I haven't had to retire anything as of yet. The only hole I have gotten is in some tights due to wiping out on rocks or a trail - and that hasn't even spread with subsequent washes.

  3. How did you size the gloves? I have pretty large hands that are thin and long... thinking to grab a size large, but I'm unsure if Nike are generally generous with their glove sizing.

I got the large and am hoping they will fit. I also have fairly large long and thin hands - will let you know once they arrive.

  4. ^ great shorts, took me a while to track them down was after them for a while too

just a tip: i have them in an XL, i sized up like all my gyak but for some reason these seem to fit tts, or maybe that's how the fit's supposed to be, almost look like a drop crotch, lol

They are an anomaly. I have I think 5 or 6 pairs of GIRA shorts and those are the only ones sized TTS. Incidentally I wore those shorts with those same tights this morning to run - I still haven't gotten tired on them. Oh and I finally found the new gloves. So it has been a good day.

  5. Yeah pretty much.

People staring and occasionally honking horns, etc.

Man I just wanna do my thing in peace.

I regularly run with women on both trails and roads - in fact I am almost always outnumbered by them. Maybe it is because we are in a mixed group but they are never bothered. If you really want to be left alone hit the trails and the mountains (with another person if you are really concerned about safety). There won't be anyone around to bother you.

  6. Companies that produce trail runners tend to hire elite racers to consult on their shoes, ie: Kilian Jornet with the Salomon S-Lab Sense and Scott Jurek on the Brooks Cascadias - possibly due to the fact that the shoes are less fashion-driven? Or maybe ultra runners are just a bunch of groupies who will buy whatever their heroes sell.

  7. Still not pleased that this thread is called "China::Taipei" rather than "Taiwan::Taipei"  Didn't think SuFu was in the business of politics.

PM'd a mod to change it but was ignored.

No one has PMed me about this - I changed the title as soon as I saw there was a concern. No offense was meant and nothing political intended - very sorry.
