what i got from other transferees was that... never go out and have fun. just study and work hard because it'll pay off in 2 years. sure you can go watch a movie or something.. but just dont let it get out of hand. make sure you do the bestyou can or you wont get to the top school you can.

you can go from a cc to any top school... just work hard for it and show it.

your gpa should def. be above 3.5 to have a really good shot at things.

i know that california collegse have transfer agreements so you may wanna look into that. and word of advice: don't change your major alot ... you wont have time to flip flop around. choose wisely

this last batch wasn't the first uniqlo selvedge, they had styles floating around in nj prior to the soho flagship launch and iirc may have even stocked them in the very beginning of same (you can search this forum for more info).

although i'm pretty sure they were a little thicker 15 oz sounds off, maybe 14 at the most. they cost 10 bucks more than the regular denim (50 vs 40), nowadays they're marketed as "premium" with a much higher markup for no discernable reason other than the market will bear it (80 vs 50)

Were they really that heavy? I bought a pair a few months ago in Japan and compared to my Sugarcanes, they felt like paper.

35mm scans on a cheap flat bed like that aren't going to come out that great. You'd get better results with a 35mm specific scanner though those are expensive. You're really better off sending it to a place that'll scan it for you.

ok, so regarding the d40's...

i know the issue of a lack of autofocusing lenses comes up really often. are there ANY autofocusing lenses on the market that work w/ the d40? common ones that an average amateur would want to pick up ? would they also work w/ a d80? how would a non-autofocusing lens really effect me? is the kit lens auto focusing?

i've been saving up for one and want to make sure there are no potential big drawbacks here...

Yes, there are lens that will auto focus with the d40. Any AF-S will. Most zooms are AF-S, its mainly the prime lens that aren't. Those lens will auto focus with the d80. With the d40 you'll just have to manually focus which isn't a big deal to me, but it might for you depending on what you're going to be shooting.

what quailifies XSI as crap? 12 mp, 14 bit, digic 3 processing... a huge 3 inch screen... i dunno seems like it has alot better options and IQ then a d80 has...

It really doesn't. All of those points are minute. The difference between 10 and 12 megapixels is minuscule. You'll probably never notice a difference between 12 and 14-bit. The screen still has the same resolution of the D80's. Either way it's not that big of a deal. There no point in comparing IQ between DSLRs. The differences are minor. The D80 in my opinion feels and handles way better. Settings are easy to change with the 2 dials. All the buttons are easy to reach. Unless you've already invested in Canon, the D80 is definitely a better buy then an XSI.

heres this OVA, Freedom thats been coming out in Japan. Cel shaded anime + Katsuhiro Otomo = yes.

The first episode aired in December, and since then only the second episode came out. The 3rd episode is suppose to air pretty soon.
