  1. Just got a Tanker bag from this guy. Arrived to UK in 3 days and it looks pretty legit to me. Claims bags come from the Porter store in Tokyo. Build quality looks the same as one I got from the Comme store in London. Very nice. Comes with hologram authenticity card and all the tags. Ships from Tokyo. If it's a fake then it's a hell of a good job! I stupidly bought the same bag a while back from a guy who slings on ebay and the difference is VERY obvious. All in all I'd say head-porter.org is the real deal - as the prices would suggest. Also noticed there is www.head-porter.org (English) and www.headporter.org (Japanese). Is there a diff?

  2. Actually the mailing address is in Japan. Just ordered from there and the guy claims to buy the stuff from a local head-porter outlet. Not sure if it's legit YET, but judging by prices it BETTER be!!

  3. I just got a Porter 'sling' bag from ebay. It was advertised as 100% authentic but the build quality looks suspect to me. I actually have a guaranteed real one which I bought from the Comme des Garcons store in London and it's clearly better made. This ebay version was $69 so what did I expect? Save up for a real one as it will probably last longer and look better.

  4. i mean let's face it, at the end of the day ebay is now rotten with counterfeiters and crooks. anything exclusive or desirable that's cheap will be either a factory second or flat-out bogus. i say stump up cash for the real deals or buy something else. having said that, living in the uk with it's strong currency, i saved £50 on a pair of classic selvedge by getting them from newton-store in japan - really great service, i'd recommend these guys.

  5. I generally take a 32 but sized down to a 31 this season - given that my one-wash 32s now require a belt. The 31s are a fantastic fit and given the weight of the denim it's highly unlikely they'll stretch out significantly. I have a pair of the faded out classic selvedge in a 32 and I can wear these sans belt and a year later this is still he case.

  6. I'm 6ft with long legs and the 32/31 one-wash were great length-wise - but I'm nearly 40 so i don't wear them hanging off my backside - it's just not dignified! Anyway, in terms of the old tailors rule that the correct trouser length is when the back of the leg is touching the ground when standing with no shoes on is about how they worked. Excellent with a nice battered pair of Tricker's, breaking perfectly on the shoe. This seasons one-wash have a 32 leg and I suspect a slightly higher rise. I have no idea about the other wacky distressed styles - looking like David Beckham has never been an ambition of mine.....
