  1. so iv been riding a converted bianchi road frame for just over 2 years now, and i think its time for a new frame. i'm sorta looking for something with the geometry of a pista, or kiloTT/flite100 (though id rather the kilo over the flite), as thats fairly close to the way i'v set up my current frame.

Any suggestions? (not looking to spend anymore than 600$, but then again thats just for a frame as i'll be switching all my current components over.)

also- i'v noticed the pista often being described as a "beginner"/ "introductory" fixie, which i find abit odd as i always understood it as being a pretty decent bike, anyone care to explain?

and lastly- i havnt been able to find anywhere to get any of the forementioned frames (besides ebay i guess) that will ship to canada. anyone know??

    thanks

  2. In Paris all raw denim (black or indigo) sells for 212 Euros, all made in Japan (I don't think they even sell made in Italy raw denim in Paris). They're the same price everywhere you go, the Dior boutiques or the in-store boutiques at Lafayette and Le Bon Marche.

I was in Berlin this week and they had just gotten in the new collection at the Dior in-store boutique at KaDeWe, they had grey raw denim, produced in Japan, for 222 Euros.

    awesome:) thanks alot.

  3. oh awesome im glad someone started this thread, im in exactly the same boat, cept im going mid july for a few weeks.... i have a friend in paris who il just follow around. (aparently collette is the store to visit- http://www.colette.fr/index.php, and if your doing a lazy walk about: the gardens at the UNESCO buildings are pretty awesome, i believe they were designed by Isamo Naguchi and some other dude, and theres also a cool little pavillion type structure there done by Tadao Ando............. if your into architecture) im planning on paying a visit to the Le Corbusier Centre (again- architecture nonsense), and im excited to check out the bars in St Germain area, and i may be mistaken but i think Buddha Bar is somewhere in paris....

for london on the other hand im really quite stuck, planning on checking out the Tate & Tate modern, the London Lovebox weekend looks like an awesom festival (weekend of july 21st) and thats about it, anyone have any suggestions? stores to check out, art & architecture to see? bars/clubs to hit up???????

  4. hey guys. so iv prettymuch decided on diors as my next purchase, unfortunately i dont have any way to check them out in a store at the moment. BUT i will be in paris next month and im wondering if anyone knows where the best/ cheapest place would be to get a pair (of sz29 mij 19cm raw blacks) in paris and how much they generally go for in euros?

  5. How much did you size down on those new cures? The color looks nice

sized down 2 (to a 28), the waistline stretched about 3 though.

i tried on the 29 and they fit like a post-stretch 28 (ecxept in the waist)

  6. cotton- you dont think that biking contributed to the insane holes in my jeans? yes i wear them tight and yes i wear them abit low and yes that gets rips started, but honestly-shit like that doesnt come about by just walking.

Jeffvyain- hey! il bike in whatever jeans i please. the idea of carrying around a second pair of pants EVERYWHERE i go just for biking doesnt appeal to me.

  7. ^ a strange pair.

looks like 1 month of wear but with 1 year of damage.

its to be expected with the SJ dry blacks, which im pretty sure those are.

but still, they look pretty good i think, just a little too destroyed.

yeppp SJ dry blacks... as much as i love how they fit now, theyre definitely a waste of wear.... i dunno whether to be embarassed walking around with this hole in my crotch or to be proud of it...

soundbomber- biking.. i guess thats why its not advised to bike in jeans.

lol @ Justinbaily..ye, next pair'll be abit roomier... most likely jeopardising my future as a father.

  8. thnx.

Like i stated before. I have a 29 in raw slim jim's. They fit quite tight. Would it be wise to size down to 28 in new cure's or cure's?

    Or go to 27...

i have both slimjims and new cure in size 28, and have worn them both well in. id say new cure is initially like half a size tighter than slimjim, but they both stretch out to about the same size in the waist and thigh, and ofcourse the calf and hem of the new cure is slimmer than slimjim.

so personally i would get the same size, or possible even up one if your slimjimr are tighter than you prefer.
