  1. Thanks for the help Midnight. The fact that the Rescues are such a true straight leg is one of the reasons I don't like them much. I guess a better question would be do the 5507's have a slight taper or true straight leg, which on my small calfs starts to look bootcut.

    The 5507's are tapered, so no worries about the bootcut effect.

  2. In general, I'd say that while a second soak is fine, it won't shrink the jeans substantially beyond the first one.

    If you want to shrink them to the max, give them a hot wash (as mentioned before, old mods might go for a 90 degree one).

    Thanks for the tip, I will try that. There isn't any need to worry about indigo loss?

  3. will you soak them before wearing?

    what is you weight/height?

    I'm 181cm. 5.11.

    64 kg. 141 lbs

    No idea what to expect for stretching.

    I'm going to the levi's store, looking for a nice normal/slim fit.

    So any advice would be appreciated . :)

    I'm 176 cm (5' 9" tall, and weigh 63 kg (138 lbs). I'm gonna soak them before wearing them. Maybe I'll post up some pictures here when I get them.

  4. A lot of different opinions here. I went with the Levi's experts (Paul T and airfrogusmc) and ordered a 32 (my true waist is 30), hoping that they shrink to around 29/30 and stretches about 1 inch. Hope I don't have to swim in them...

  5. so I was closely admiring my 5010s last night, and I noticed something neat about the cross bartack on the back pocket. there is actually a cut red tab underneath it! I guess I never noticed this before... but I thought it was interesting

    anybody else notice this?

    Yep, same thing on my 5507's. Seems like the Levi's lawsuit made things pretty hectic over at Fab Four...

  6. size up one.. or true size -____________-;

    still debating.

    I got my true size. A little tight at first, but they stretched to a comfortable size. But according to other people here, you can never really know before you've tried them, due to the inconsistency of sizing.
