  1. well ive had my jeans for not even a month yet and i dont really sag.

i know that causes stress. but ive been checking the crotch area and theres signs of fading like whiskers do. i know its from walking, but does that mean theyre prone to rip ?

right, the fading means that there is more friction in that area. it doesnt necessarily mean they are GOING to rip but if you start noticing the threads themselves getting worn down then i would say yes. just keep an eye on it.

  2. yeah i have the same problem with almost all of my jeans. i found one good fitting pair from wesc a few years back but it wasnt' really good in terms of quality? it was great because even when i sat down or anything my butt crack didn't show. it also made my ass look great haha too bad it wasn't good quality. i think it's better to have a slight bit of a higher rise. maybe low rise is TOO low, so it gets too loose around the crotch because it starts to cling onto just the hips? it might not be enough to support the entire part of the jean so it just hangs down.. i hate it too. i also wonder if you could get it fixed at a tailor... maybe bring in the material of the crotch but i don't know how to fix the buttcrack problem except getting a slighty higher rise..

i was thinking taking in the waist a bit would prevent them from sliding down, because then they would be too tight around the waist for slide-age. i'm going have to compare rise next time i get a new pair because i'm in between sizes and i know some brands scale the rise according to size so a 28 might have a lower rise than a 29"

    thanks!

  3. ahh jesus, if there is a thread for girls about sneaky ways to get your jeans tailored then please point me in that direction.

i used to wear alot of JBRAND 914's with the legs taken in since i really. cant. fit. my. legs into the 912s. i've been riding my bike more and now those dont fit in the thighs/ass. so i bought a pair of some kind of tapered jean from uniqlo. THIS IS THE PROBLEM I ALWAYS HAVE WITH JEANS: there is this bizarre combo of a droopy crotch and the top parts of the thighs being too tight. if i wear a pair of jeans for a day they eventually slide down my ass exposing so much buttcrack and the whole aforementioned droopy crotch.

i am thinking of the following possibilities:

buying the same jeans in a bigger size and having the waist taken in. (most likely)

having the waist taken in on my current pair

saying "fuck it" and dropping $170 on the new jbrand blue labels in "jett"

i used to wear citizens of humanity "ingrid" and they made my ass look GREAT except the "ingrid" doesnt come in a black garment dye with black stitching and a 13.5" leg opening. IM PICKY.

    where do i start?

  4. not totally on topic. buttttt

darkanimal is going to proxy me a pair of uniqlos but he needs to know the style wash etc and i am having a brain fart. i was in the store in november and i want the ones that are basically a very nice j brand knockoff. dark with very subtle whiskering. does anyone know what these are called?

    thanks

    talia

  5. my nudie slim kims are coming in the mail soon, i am so excited, i am still working on a pair of apic new cures but i am going to save the nudies for special outings until the apcs are too far gone. slim kims are soooo hard to find outside of nyc i have been on preorder for them since forever

    :)

  6. no one in portland sells APC.

call sam at context, or mauro at denimbar in virginia and ask for sizing help.

    .

yes that would be my suggestion too, they can even ship you a pair. their prices are usually less than what apc asks for them.

they're in arlington on pentagon row,

    thedenimbar.net i think.

  7. My partner wants to jump in the raw denim pool but she's reluctant to buy something she can't try on first. She owns a pair of Badu R's but finds 45RPM selvedge too tight. Here in NYC where might she go to check out various brands? Atruim, right? Coop? Barney's? BIG may have Geishas on a given day. And she didn't like the fit of Jean Shop. Any other spots?

you would be able to find lots of denimbirds and nudie sk at atrium but also check out opening ceremony and (eek) barneys coop.

  8. denimbirds are nice but they run really really really small. my current project is a pair of apc hipsters that i had my seamstress take in the leg to a 14" width.

and if the new cures are too tight, try the regular cure, they are less skinny but still better than the hipser i think.

    $115 INCLUDES SHIPPING,

Here is a pair of 27 x 34 tight stretch dry black jeans made by Denimbirds.

I bought them on ebay from a guy who had never worn them and bought them at atrium for $185.

They are way too small, and ebay no returns etc

    the measurements laid flat are

    waist: 15

    front rise: 7.5

    rear rise: 10.5

    hips: 16

    inseam: 34

    thanks!

As for payment and shipping, unfortunately at this time I can only ship within the U.S. and I will only accept PayPal.

  10. "i really think that there are some great designs out there for women in raw denim now, even just by going on the pics in this thread. maybe it is because they can get away with wearing more fitted styles?"

    word up.

  11. all apc jeans are straight leg. the hipsters somewhere around 16" so more of a "wide' leg than a straight unless the wearer is a guy. the new cure might be a better bet, those have a 14" opening.

the new cures are more of a mid/high rise.

  13. I've got some APC new cures coming in for my lady friend.. probably will also pick up some Cheap Mondays and some Acnes. The APCs are a little boxy fitting but I think it looks pretty good, especially on narrower hips.

just remember to size down, with girls raw denim it's easier to work into a pair of tight pants over time, i have two pairs of apcs and the one pair fit me walking out out of the store, now they are too loose for my taste, the next pair i sized down, couldnt button the fly all way way so i slept in them for the first couple weeks to help stretch the hips out and now they are perfect. thank god for button flies.

  14. in general i think that skinny-straight jeans are very flattering(14"). but not "skinny" tapers(12" or smaller) bootcuts make me look "curvy" (fat)

kate moss can suck it. she would look stylish in a trash bag.

  15. Yeah, she told him they have a lower rise... nothing mentioned about them being slimmer. She bought both the same size and the women's version has less buttons (on the button-fly).

how many buttons on the fly? just curious. trying to decide between getting another pair of hipsters and having the leg taken in or just getting the new cures and having them be slightly higher rise.
