can anyone comment on the quality + sizing of nau? talking about softshells has me realizing i could use a lightweight, water-resistant, and packable jacket to keep in bag. been looking at the lightbeam jacket:
simple thing really but it looks pretty good imo. price a bit on the steep side all things considered but pops up here and there online on sale last i checked
i never buy their stuff full price, usually wait for the warehouse sale each year. but the quality is good - though it does vary between items considerably. Also, fwiw: calling the lightbeam jacket "water-resistant" is a bit of a stretch.

I have - but not for a long time, I need to go back.
fwiw we ended up going to Expatriate on killingsworth since it was determined that drinking was more important than eating on this particular evening.
tho the food we got was still good - cucumber salad and game hen esp.

continuing the theme: anyone have a good restaurant rec for those of us who have pretty much been everywhere else? i'm tryin to impress a lady, but it need not be "Romantic" per se. the weirder the better, really.

when i was in tokyo i found this nepali spot near my office and went there waaaay too often. It's definitely the type of 'indian' food most popular in america and, in my limited experience, seemed kind of hard to find in Tokyo, but i'm sure it's there. Anyhow - maybe i'm remembering it too fondly, but it sure did hit the spot at the time...

while le happy's menu is super limited beyond crepes, it's still one of the best romantic-but-not-shitty places ...

if you enlarge the photo you can see the grout patches over the tendons in the slab edge. super fucking close together, no less.

Mirakutei is my goto ramen spot. Vouched for by my Japanese homegirl. Simple, no overkill salt or fatbombs, and pretty traditional.
oo yeah forgot mirakutei - haven't been since they remodeled (did they change up the menu too?)
re: restaurants - went to Ox a week ago and it was the bomb. everything we ordered was great.

in no order at all:
boxer
biwa
miho
boke bowl
shigezo
Some are better than others but i'm not gonna vouch for any of them - all have their moments, but none are really excellent.
guarantee there are better spots out in beaverton, etc - someone list those plz.
