im sorrybut what is the difference between raw denim and selvedge denim when they feel exactly the same? and i know when you wash raw denim it looks totally different and feels different. but how about when washing rigid selvedge denim? will it feel any different and look any different? how can you tell the two apart if it wasnt stated its selvedge or raw denim?

i just recently bought some rigid uniqlo denim. but it doesnt state that its raw. and i just want to know if i wash it will it be in the same condition? im from nyc. so if anyone from nyc bought a pair of regular originals. i think the tag says its S_002

thanks for hte help. yes, i managed to go to the store today and they happened to have alot of raw denim. one of the people who work their said they're doing an inventory to see which kinds of sales should be out more and they have jeans that fit like 501's. i asked and they did say they custom hem it. i wished they alter the jeans for me.

hmmm...sounds like a plan.. how do i get the sheen look back? and how long do i soak it for. b/c here in nyc there are other stf jeans..faded, dark, light and all that.. soft denim tho. is it the same process? or should i just throw them in the machine since they dont really lose color?

will the raw denim break if you dont wash them for 6 months? and this is my biggest question if i soak them in my bath tub just for the shrinkage, do they lose sheen and and indigo? is warm water or cold water best for this one time process?:confused:

other than the raw rigid indigo denim there are other levi's stf's out there..in mad colors..i just want to know if i can wash them like other jeans and put them in the dryer? is it the same as puttin it in the tub and shhh
