  1. I did a 30 minute hot soak. Those are sitting pretty high up because the waist was so tight, once they stretch a bit I'll wear them a half inch lower and all will be good. I did the same for my 005BKs and they ended up with a perfect fit, so hopefully these end up the same.

And yeah, the slub is amazing :)

  2. Out of the wash and dried:

They fit great now. (before pictures on previous page)

I think you should have stuck with the 32s, although they'd have been uncomfortable for up to a week post-soak/wash, in the long run the fit will be better. The Sams stretch a lot, and if the fit post-soak is perfect then in a month or so it will be way too roomy for you.

For reference, I'm a natural 32" waist and I went with tagged size of 31. The jeans post-soak are PERFECT, but after about two weeks of daily wear I will want to soak them again.

  3. thanks for the comments guys. The real question beckons, since the s5000bk's are almost a year old, what happened to everyone else's s5000? I was probably the last out of the orginal batch of people to buy them. Let's see some more s5000!!

I'll post a picture of mine later, but they're nowhere near as far along as yours. I haven't washed mine yet (three or four soaks to shrink though) and it's been 10 months or so. Love these jeans too.

If mine turn out like yours after another six months I'll be happy.

  4. Diesel - Monica Belluci

Stunning Italian looks and quality acting got her famous, then she got raped and ended up in big-production-poor-quality films like The Matrix Revolutions and The Passion of the Christ. Still wouldn't kick her out of bed though..

  5. Just got the S5000BK in size 31, I'm a true size 31 and hot soaked these for 4.5 hours, dropped down to a 29/30, and it's absolutely killing me. Hopefully these will stretch back out, the thighs and inseam definetly went down a lot which is a good thing. So they will stretch back out hopeefully?

Actually, you'll probably wish you sized down 1 or 2 after a month.. these bad boys never stop stretching, haha.

  6. I'm getting that the consensus is size down 1 from your usual / levi 501 for a "safe" fit, 2 for a more fitted fit?

Size down 1 if you're going to wash/soak them regularly, size down 2 for a "safe" fit if you're going to wear them a lot without soaking, they stretch like a bitch.. sizing down 1 has the most perfect fit for only about a week post-soak.

  7. This might be jumping the gun...but Carl mentioned something about the quality in these lacking...he's not talking about the blacks so I may be completely offf here. I dunno...Carl tends to know his shit...

The quality up against my black sammies was the first thing that struck me, they are nowhere near as good. I like the colour stitching though.

  8. Dang, I really like those poly. The color, at least in the photos, is one of the few black jeans I've seen that I've liked recently.

It's really different in natural light, but in my opinion even better. Those jeans are starting to look real nice though, I've worn mine for a month and they've stretched so much I need to soak them again.

  9. if i'm a 34, and i dont want a slim fit, i just want a regular fit, would it be safer for me to get a 32 or 33?

I sized down 1 from 32 and I wish I went for the 30, because I wanted to try some slimmer jeans but at the same time I think sizing down 1 is the perfect comfort fit. The waist will be hard as hell to button after a shrink but one night of wear and it'll have easily stretched out.

  10. AFAIK, if you want to use Paypal you need a debit or credit card, if that's what you're asking. It won't work with just a cash machine card. If you don't have one, the easiest option would be to ask someone you know in 'real life' to send the money for you if you give them the cash.

And the jeans took about 3 days to get here, and all in all the whole process took six days from the time I sent my money through paypal (which was right before a weekend so the jeans weren't posted till the following Monday).

  11. Got my Samurai S5000BK through this service to the UK. Very prompt and communication was great throughout too. Also marked down item as a gift to help me avoid customs charge which saved me way more than any service charge costed.

If I need anything from Japan in the future I would definitely use this service again.

  12. It's funny that people say that the Sammies are the ones you should go for because the PBJs are too tight in the thighs because that's exactly the opposite impression I got from looking at pictures of people actually wearing the jeans and describing the fit in their respective threads. Also I was specifically warned from someone that has a pair that the Sammies are tighter in the thighs than other jeans.

Go read up on those threads, you'll see a lot of the people wearing them have nothing close to chicken legs and some of the fits are incredible. It was those pictures that sold me on them, specifically the PBJ.

Coincidentally, I have ordered/pre-ordered both of these jeans. I originally pre-ordered the PBJs but after seeing how the Sammies in black fade and the amount of people saying they were the perfect fit I had to get a pair. Just waiting on them being delivered now.
