  1. What is the best way to go about rinsing all of the soap out of the denim before drying it out. I have more or less reached my desired effect of cleanliness with the wash I am doing right now, but when I let them sit for any sustained period of time to dry, soap will start to build up.

  2. Dunno if you are a jazz fan, but academy in the east village is Incredible for that sort of stuff. Fat beats is good for indie hip hop. Unfortunately never got the opportunity to do much record shopping in the 6 months i was up there. I would imagine you could probably get your hands on anything you could possibly want in the city, you just have to know where to look.

  3. yeah i recently got mugged and got the shit beaten out of my and bled all over my raw new standards. its too much blood to use spit to get out. is peroxide a safe alternative for unwashed denim? i am thinking about just leaving it there until i wash them, it does look pretty gnarly. i was really worried that the emt dude had cut my pants off of me in the ambulance but luckily he didnt.

  4. why is everyone even comparing Banksy to neckface? their styles are completely different.

seriously. the fact that neckface and banksy are the only two mentioned in this thread, and that they are being compared to one another(seriously, what the fuck), i am going to go ahead and assume that no one here knows shit about graffiti or whtever you want to call it.

  5. I work for american apparel and I would agree with the sentiments here. After going to the Soho Uniqlo store today, I would say that their product is probably superior to that of AA. However, where AA is slim fitting, Uniqlo is sort of standard american fitted. You can size down to accomodate for that though, which is what I did.

  6. my alternative solution was to put your shit in your pockets and spend your hundreds of dollars on somethat that you aren't going to be too embarassed to use in 2 years. i thought i made that clear.

  7. personally i think its excessive and silly. and it's called a purse, not a 'manbag' or whatever halfway masculine name you want to give it to justify you carrying one around. purse.

while you are at it, you should get that chain wallet in the picture too.

  8. working at AA is just like any other retail job really. i would imagine had you worked for them 2 or 3 years ago when the company was just starting to grow it would be different, but its so big and corporate now you might as well work at the gap.

i am a stock manager and it fucking sucks. because of the public image of the company all of the new hires come in thinking they can slack off because thats "cool" and it generally results in me having to cover their slack. i am quitting in 2 weeks and aside from a few aspects of the job and a select few people that i have met over the course of my employment that i am going to miss, i couldnt be happier.

the cool thing about it, at least working in new york, is the experience of being around a completely hands on owner like dov. i was working at the flagship store on broadway and would see him everyday that he was in town. i thought it was really cool, considering how overblown the company has gotten in the past year or two, that you would still see the owner, and he would work side by side with you, just for the sake of motivation.

and i can't say that i haven't learned anything that i can take to another job, either. i know the computer program all of the stores are linked together by like the back of my hand, along with all sorts other general stock protocol. and i plan to do exactly that, take my experience somewhere else, with more professional coworkers and better pay.

  9. if you are going to handroll, i would suggest bali shag. and some people say its a pain, but personally i find it to be fun. after a while you get really good at it, and it comes in handy when you want to roll a joint. learn lots of neat tricks etc etc. sort of inconvenient though. hard to smoke on the go. i used to hand roll and i would come so close to getting into accidents trying to roll while i drove. but yeah, its neat i guess.

  10. This same show i believe is happening in new york on halloween at some Polish night club. But then Ampere and Das Oath are playing with Off Minor instead of Hot Cross 4 days later at a house in Bushwick, somewhere off the Jefferson stop on the L. Not too much of a Hot Cross fan, definitely going to the Nov. 4th show. See some of you guys there?

PS: Das Oath definitely IS ex-Charles Bronson.
