  1. Hey guys, I'm visiting Montreal for the first time in April with my gf, staying for a full week, and planning to rent a place through airbnb--

Which neighborhoods/streets should I be looking at for a place to stay?  we would like to be able to walk around to restaurants/cafes from the rental home and explore the city by foot as much as possible.  so far i've been looking at places around little italy, mile end, le plateau-- are any of these neighborhoods better than the others? and.. which area is most likely to make my gf say "this is such a cute neighborhood"? haha

  2. thanks for the scoop. i'm around your height too and i would've figured you were sizing up since you bought a large, hence the sleeves being the right length(?). i just bought the pvc coaches in medium because i was told it fits tts, hoping that one's an exception.

yeah size M should be fine for you, i forgot to mention i often layer a hoody under the ubik coach.

  3. how's the fit on the coaches (or other outerwear)? i've read too many differing accounts saying either it's tts or size up (mainly because the sleeves are too short).

i'm 5'10" and the ss14 ubik coaches jacket in size L fits TTS for me, the sleeves are not short at all. i generally wear size L in other ce outerwear too and haven't had a problem.

  4. do i need to size down one or two sizes on the Cone Indigo Duck Kerouac chinos? the measurements look slightly bigger than the Japanese twill kerouac chinos. I saw Pepper Davies recommended sizing down two on the duck miners, would the same apply to the cone duck kerouacs?

thanks to everyone for the help on the chelseas. kuroki is sold out in my size so debating between kaihara and collect now.

  5. Hey guys, haven't posted here in ages, but i'm in the market for a new pair of jeans.  5 years ago i got the LF tweed jeans but gave them away which i've always regretted. so i told myself i'd get a new pair of LF denim when it comes time to retire the roy's i've been wearing for the last 4 years, and that time has finally come.

i'm looking to get a pair of Chelsea's but can't decide which denim to get them in. basically trying to decide between 14 oz. Kaihara, 15 oz. Cone, or 15 oz Kuroki. i'm more interested in the denim hand/texture and how it will age/fade, not too worried about the weight. any input on the different denim would be appreciated.

i read Christian say that the Japanese denim doesnt stretch as easily as the Cone, so do I need to size up for the jp denim? my jeans usually measure between 34.5-35 at the waist when comfortably worn in. generally i am a size 34 and i'm thinking that is the size i need in the Chelseas.

  6. ^Original Gravity is a very cool spot, always some great choices on their rotating beer menu.

    speaking of beer: www.sfbeerweek.org/schedule

filter the list to "South Bay" and move the map to San Jose, quite a few events going on in Feb. I'll probably be hitting up O.G. for at least one of them.

  7. Are there any good tailors that patch up denim? or even denim shops that sell Japanese repro denim that happen to do repairs? I'm hoping/looking to get a pair of jeans chain-stitched and another pair repaired (crotch blowout).

There are two denim shops in the Zhongxiao shopping neighborhood, called Faith and Take5, that are probably your best bets. They are both very close to the UC store/noodle bar. From UC, walk towards Zhongxiao Dong Rd. for a couple small blocks and they are on your left.
