i actually just got a pair of the eco 501 STF's for a birthday gift and just started wearing them. the rise on them is definately lower (4 buttons instead of 5). the denim is far from stiff, and the indigo seems to be wearing in pretty fast. ill post pics as soon as i have a digi cam to use...

heres a pair of Gap straight leg selvedge i picked up in January, these arent the Goughs or the Morrisons. These are the ones that came out after those two. I wore these about everyday for the first two months, maybe 2-3 times a week the month after that. Now im back to wearing them almost everyday. I havent seen anyone post these yet so tell me guys what you think...

Fyi, i had to size down to a 32 with my Goughs(im a 33 in 501 stf's), but with these free spirits i had to size down to a 31 to get them to not fit baggy. I probobly could have gone with a 32, but i know these are going to stretch so i went with the 31.

heres a couple pics of the new straight rigid's with the blue selvedge from this season...the tag inside says that these are called the "free spirits". They look to be the same cut as the straight rigid's online with the same red selvedge as the morrisons, but i perfer the blue selvedge.

i asked this earlier, its not rust...its the sizing/startch that Gap uses on these jeans...the same thing happened to my Goughs when i soaked them...

you sure they werent the straight rigid that i talked about with the blue selvage? i know that someone posted the straight rigid from gap.com and they came with the red selvege like the morrisons, but the ones i purchased in store have a blue selvege.

just to let everyone know...the new straight rigid with the blue slevedge are on sale this weekend for 25% off... i picked up a pair, and they seem a bit baggier in the thighs but slightly more tappered at the ends

those are the "rigid" ones of gap.com correct? is the denim similar to the Gough denim or the Morrison denim? because ive been wearing my Goughs for almost a month and i have A LOT of fading going on already and i love it.

thanks for the quick answer...hmmm maybe its time for a light startching then, they do feel a bit softer than before...

i've soaked my Gough's twice now....and when i soak them....they bleed a wierd dark yellow color......whats up with that?!

I just got them in the mail yesterday. Denim looks/feels nice. Nice rigidity. Love the color. I lke the Gap straight fit...fits my body well.
While the website just says high quality denim and makes no mention of selvage, the selvage seams are just like the $98 morrisons.
I had a 30% off coupon thanks to Zelah, so I scored them for just 48.

id love to see pictures of what these jeans look like in comparison to my Goughs... also did these have the colorful pockets like the 498 Morrisons or just plain pockets just like the Goughs?

After a quick wear on tuesday, a long cold water soak on wednesday, ive been wearing these things like crazy ever since. This is my first pair of selvedge denim let alone Japanese denim, and im loving it. I went from regular everyday 501xx STFs to these and there is no comparison. These things feel like they are going to wear in a lot nicer than the STFs not to mention just plain FEEL nicer while wearing. I know these arent Samurais by any means, but id love to see people posting the progress of the wearing fo these jeans.

wow, they definately do look better without the white patch. and FYI the Gough's are now on sale for $69.99 and floating around the net is a 30% Freinds and Family coupon at Gap this weekend......
heres the link to the coupon:

i just finished soaking my Gough's for a little over two hours in cold water, i put a hanger in the waist to try and control the shrinking because the waist was pretty alright. I was just looking for shrinkage in the length a little bit, and trying to get rid of as much bagginess as possible. I'll give you guys an update as soon as they finish drying...
