I'm heading down to south beach on 12/15 to refresh the tan before the holidays. Frankly, I've avoided the place for years because I though it had lost its edge. Where should I chill when I'm there?

Yes, I know the uber-hip Cift and love it but I'm looking for a hidden gem on this trip. Does anyone know about B&B's in the Haight?

Heading to San Francisco next month. Love the city but have not been in over 10 years. Looking for a cool, hip but not too over the top (or expensive) hotel. I travel often for business so a 4-5 star hotel is NOT what I'm looking for. Location, style and value are key. Thanks for your help!
