Thanks for the comments and +rep all.
My fades seem a lot more "contemporary" than the vintage-type fades of most of the other contestants.
I think there will be a real wide range in looks by the time this is all done.

Merry Christmas superfuture.
1967 505xx, little more than 1 year. 2 or 3 machine washes, 1 or 2 hand washes, one replaced fly, numerous crotch blowouts.

the 67's seem to fade pretty similarly, however I think this might be my favorite cut so far.
I agree fellini, I really like this cut and am very happy its the one I chose too. Those look really good.

10 month update - 1967 505xx:I've been on sufu very little over the last couple months, but really am really impressed by the progress on a lot of these jeans... specially jyoni! TBH I'm not really loving that patch as it looks right now... but considering how much wear you put into those, the patch will probably look amazing in a couple weeks.

10 month update - 1967 505xx:
I've worn these '67s almost every Friday, every evening, and every weekend. Hemming, and repairing a crotch blowout and busted zipper have probably cut ~1 month worth of wear out of the last 10... but since the contest started these have been pretty much the only jeans I wear. Hope you like.

Looking good everyone... a lot of wear on a lot of theses jeans - awesome.
I busted the zipper on my '67s and will have them fixed next week. More pics to come afterwards.

Hey all, lets slow down with the comedy. There's good discussion in here and some really solid posts... I'd hate to see this thread trashed with .gifs and one liners.
I vote that this thread gets stickied so that Electrum can contribute whenever he wants, and keep us posted about how his vintage fashion takeover goes.

Man I have some repairs to do. I also think I might wash them...I've got some distress starting in the lap creases.
Those are going to look awesome with a wash. Whiskers look really good.

epifreak your '67s look great. My 1967s are below. They have been washed once at 4 months, and they had a soak at 5 months... and I wear them a lot.
I've been really happy with these jeans so far. The rise might be pretty high, but I think they look great with a t-shirt. They've also come with me to Toronto, Chicago, London, and Singapore, and will be coming with me to San Fransisco next week.
A hole has just shown up, which I need to fix.
I love how the hidden half of the tab fades through the pocket.

These all deserve to be in this thread too.
5 month update! 67 505s gave a 2nd wash about 2 weeks ago...FUCKING awesome.
Great work runormal. Your jeans are awesome so far. I wear my '67s everyday and they aren't even keeping up.
We're coming up to 1/4 of this contest... when we hit two years, there are going to be some beautiful jeans being shown off...

This is approximately 8 months of wear with my Imperial Shearers. No wash, but i plan on washing them very soon. What do you guys think?
Why are you planning on washing them? How much have you worn them?

We went through all this J Crew hate when the Alden collaboration came out a couple months ago.
Did we get any resolution there?

Thanks guys.
Yeah, they have 'tightened up' a bit for sure. I LOVE the way they fit right at this moment, especially through the legs.

I can only encourage people wearing their own clothes to work.depending on your job they can benefit a lot from some real abuse.
I agree. I can't speak for your job almostnice, but when I worked construction I'd wear jeans if I was doing physical labour... but I'd wear carhartts if I was doing anything with oil or sealants. No way would I wear clothing I like, to work with anything that's going to be greasy or degradeable.

giantsdrink's black sammies are better than mine.
Thanks Poly.

They're near the bottom of the page. This is that same archive where Beatle's 0500xx and Poly's S5000BKs are also posted.

Nice fadings around here...
Some pictures of my new skull 5010 xx sz. 33. Gave them a one hour hot soak. I like the fit, since I was looking after nice japanese slim denim...
I think a 32 would have been way too tight...
32 would have definitely been too tight. I'm a similar build and got 5010s in 32 - but was thinking about getting a 31. Very happy now that I got the 32.
Anyways those look good. Have fun.

Heres my 1915 501s after 5+ months of no water and constant wear. I finally soaked after 5 1/2 months and shot these.
Are you posting your own jeans and calling them grail?
Those look good, but I vote that if this thread sticks around, people don't post pictures of their own jeans.
Otherwise there's no difference between this thread and Evo.

1967 505xx, 3 month update (March 2010).Daily wear, no washes yet. Started a new job last summer, and the best thing about it is that I don't have to wear a suit everyday. It's now a desk job, but at least I get to wear my jeans.
Photos taken in my crypt (condo) in indirect sunlight. These are pretty stubborn, but they're starting to fade in the combs and whiskers. Couple things I don't like are the massive kneebags, and length. I will probably get them hemmed, but will wait until after the first wash. However, I do wear these with a big / double cuff quite often and don't really want to lose that utility with a hem.
Otherwise they're starting to get 'shiny', and I love it. I'll probably hold off a wash for a while, because I really like the contrast that's just starting to come out.

Cultizm LVC Contest (photos only thread)

I'm stoked that we're actually < 1 year from the end of a 2 year contest... Other contests end, when it seems that some of the contest pairs are beginning to look spectacular.... this one is just beginning.
Know who I'd like to see updates from? joe@cultizm... where's that guy at? Anyone know what's up with him?
Or have I missed some of his posts over the last couple months...
