  1. I think it's really hard to explain with words but a picture really helps. I was sent images of the fabric swatches (I don't have permission to share these) for surface and wface and it is more apparent as to what the difference might be without handling the pieces themselves.

My feeling is that it's really hard to appreciate CCP items until you have had an opportunity to handle them in person and ideally in a store which buys a variation of each style in different fabrics for his collection. I couldn't fully appreciate his work until i got to handle pieces at LIFT this summer. It's the little details that I'm drawn to. I just wish it wasn't so expensive though.

I've been eyeing the new selvedge fishtail coat but the price of it is equivalent to a CCP leather. Really hard to justify unless you can try it on in person and even then, your mind tells you that you are fricking crazy to drop that much $$$ on a coat.

kind of bemused with the discussion at SZ.

i got a dead-end coat with the fabric called surface. and it is not wface nor reverse or etc.

  2. Thanks for posting up the Tumblr link. Some great shots of the pieces. I would love to get my hands on a pair of those green derbys and kick myself for not picking up the bone colored kangaroos at LIFT last month. It's a shame that I've never seen any other store carry them. Have you ever tried the new 'L' belt? I think it's the bone colored one that is in the pics?

  3. Thanks for posting this. EM seems to be one of the few stores that is adventurous (colors, fabrics etc.) in their buys...the other being LIFT. I think that the full array that you have there really shows off some of CCP's works and after being able to handle many of the different fabrics earlier this summer at LIFT, I have a new appreciation for his work.

You should check out the new knit that he did where there is only a single seam. I was surprised when I found out it was wool vs some blend. Really amazing piece but it fits big so you need to size down 1 or 2.

It looks like EM has a very loyal and large following in AUS which is great. I've been trying to get onto their 'list' for a few years now but everything is usually sold out by the time EM can deal with oversea orders.

BTW, curious as to what a selvedge scarf is like?

  4. Not a big poster on SuFu but thought I would add my thoughts on this new line. I handled a few pieces of the SS11 collection at LIFT last month and thought some of the designs were really good. Quality seemed to be high and the leather itself was great. I was told by the SA that only some pieces in stock used Guidi leather so I'm not sure if this carried over to the FW11 collection as well?

From the new collection, the double layer looks great and the price points are reasonable compared to other more established lines. Has the sizing been adjusted in the FW11 collection as the SS11 was sized at least 1 size small than marked?

Oh I'm glad you guys are carrying L&F...a line that has caught my eye and I've been wanting a few pieces to try but never can find it in my size.

We have finally got the Incarnation pictures up online at Parable. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on the pieces.

  5. Going to be in Seoul for one week in July for work. I've read on here that you can find decent prices for the Ritz at $100 / night. Are there specific online sites that offer great rates for hotels in Seoul?

I've tried all the usual suspects like Hotwire, Hotels, Priceline etc.

    Thx.

  6. I don't buy & sell on this forum as much but from experience, anytime you want to ship something with tracking from Canada to a place outside of North America is a lot of $$$...anywhere from $60 - 90. I tried to ship a wallet in a package that was 4" x 6" x 2" and was quoted $60.

When you take that out of the funds, the buyer is not less with a whole lot in his pocket.

  7. I have way too many pairs in my rotation and these ones are not getting any love. Some are just too small due to some weight gain. I may be adding a few more next week. For reference, I'm 5'11". I prefer my pants to hang just near the bottom of my heels without any dragging. No trades.

Outsole measurement is 31.5cm while insole is 28.5cm. I believe that they are from SS07 but previous seller has deleted his post.
