  1. Not sure, but you bought old stock. They've since switched to American denim from cone mills but a lot of people have been trying to seek out the old Japanese stock. Stores carry the American denim, but they were clearing some Japanese out on the online shop for others who might be looking to get some. Can't guarantee you'll get the old stock so YMMV.

Huh. Interesting. Yeah, I purchased online -- didn't know they'd switched to Cone at all, but mine have the lettering on the inside lining of the pockets saying that they are milled w/ Japanese denim. Sounds like I lucked out.

  2. Nepenthes is the parent company of Engineered Garments. Its products are designed by Daiki Suzuki. This is a rare piece that I purchased at a few years ago, but now have the pleasure of passing on to someone else.

This is the warmest pea coat I've ever worn. It has a quilted lining (with some minor fraying that an be easily mended) that keeps you warm even in windy conditions. It's an XL, but I think this would fit anyone who wears a Large in their outerwear (measurements below). It has a tall collar that looks great when turned up. There's some stitching on the back of the collar that I really like.

The grey color is versatile, not drab. It looks amazing with denim, crisp or worn in. And you could wear this over a shirt and tie and look classy still.

The buttons have a nice tarnished effect that gives them some extra character and detail. Some are slightly loose, but it's really not noticeable. I only even mention for full disclosure.

Two side pockets keep your hands warm. Single vent in the back.

And then the construction on this coat is unparalleled, as you'd expect from the brand. There are really neat seams jutting from the neck down the back. You'll keep this for years. I've gotten great use of it and now am happy to pass it on to someone else.

  3. Up for sale is a BNWT Rag & Bone black nylon windbreaker. 100% nylon, made in the USA.

This is an incredible jacket with a flattering slim fit. It just doesn't work for me, as I really don't have any black in my wardrobe, but I know a lot of people here rock black on a regular basis. I've never seen this jacket on anyone -- hell, the only place I really even see it for sale is ForwardForward with a $535 MSRP (and it's not on sale).

It has a number of zip pockets and the main zipper is a Riri zipper. There's a hood that zips into the back, fabric under the armpits for movement. In general, this thing just fits like a glove, the length is perfect, the sleeves are slim but not constricting. It's perfect.

I live in NYC and have never seen this on anyone.

$300 shipped in the US, shipping/tracking included

    Measures:

pit to pit -- 20.5" on the nylon

    sleeve inseam -- 21"

length pit to hem -- 16.5"

length neck to hem -- 26.5"

    width of hem -- 18.25"

    shoulders -- 18-18.25"

  4. I have for sale a beautiful Dries van Noten blazer. Two-button, single vented. Size is EU50. I'm taking measurements when I get up from my chair. I've only worn this once -- to a meeting and back, so it is in perfect condition. It's just a lovely blazer that I don't want to part with. It has a fairly slim silhouette and narrow, but not hyper-narrow, notch lapels. I'd put this in MC but Dries should move better here.

This is a beautiful piece with a complex, yet masculine pattern; it strikes of trad and modern at the same time. And I think everyone should have some Dries in their closet.

I'd like to get $275 for this, boxed and shipped USPS Priority Mail w/ delivery confirmation. PM me with any interest.

    Pit to pit ~19.75"

    Sleeve inseam: 16"

    Pit to bottom: 19"

Shoulders: 16.5" (measured from seam to seam on the back)

  5. haha ^ that discussion will arise anyway, i'm betting.

look for a tall and thick one. IMO, JBD bongs are the best quality and really aesthetically pleasing. ( double chamber = +rep!)

i think my plan of action is going to get whichever represents the best value, but has percolators in there.

what is the advantage of the beaker shape?
