  1. I would think Samurai do not have to change the leather patch due to the Levis lawsuit. The only infringement taht they have are the red tabs and the arcuates. The patch would only have infringed Levis if it depicts two "objects" pulling a pair of jeans but in this case it did not.

But then again they may want to cahnge it just for fun. May be signifying a Reborn Samurai.

I personally prefers the current patch.

  2. Same here. My S0500XX lot 10 which I just received from 2nd measured only 1inch (Tgged 33; measured 34) bigger than tagged sz. I have the same query as Grilled cheese. Does this means that it's equivalent to a Sz 32 of previous batches or it's a sz 33 in all other dimensions just that the waist measured smaller than preiously?

  3. I order from 2nd and received a reply saying that I am required to do a bank transfer for my first order and I can use my credit card for next orders. I replied them asking if I request to ship domestic ( I have a address in Japan where they can ship to) could I pay by credit card instead and this is the reply I got from them:

    いつもお世話になっております。2ND(セカンド)の井瀬です。

Really appreciate if some one could help to translate. Thanks

  4. those stitches on 47 canes are history for those who are lucky to own one, you own a piece of canes history. Then again, the canes without stitches will become history too as according to an earlier post they are still researching on a new stitch to replace the old on when that happen there will be no more canes without stitch.

  5. So the removing of the stitches is prompted by a stupid UK distributor. I mean what's the big deal about this distributor why do Sugar canes need to remove the stitches just so that go on a business collaboration. Plus, the price they are selling is rediculous. I was thinking at least for the Japan stock they can keep the stitches. The canes without the stitches is abit wierd to me.

  6. Hi,

thanks for your advice. I had sort of decided on sz 33 for both 47 and sc40301 Okinawa, until I read your post and also Watchman's post. I guess I will now go for 32 for the 47 and 33 for the Okinawa. My assumption is that basically the Sugar cane jeans falls into two line (Replicas and Sugarcane Millet), the Replicas (like the 47) should stretch alot while the ones made of the Sugarcane Millet (like the okinawa, Edo Ai and Hawaii etc) should have little stretching.

  7. Anyone has any experience with the 1947 and SC40401A model. Is the sz chart at Hinoya really accurate? The reason I am asking is that I had a sz 32.5" (82 cm) waist and going by the sz chart at Hinoya (32" is 82cm) and postings at the forum I decided to get a true to sz 32 for the SC40301A Edo Ai Indigo mixed Indigo. But It turns out to be too small at the waist (though I am able to button up, but it fells real tight), I had to sell it off brand new with tags in the end.

Now I am comteplating placing my order for a 1947 and SC40401A (Okinawa mixed indigo) in one wash at one sz up in sz 33" but the sz chart indicated that 33" is also 82cm same as the Edo Ai sz 32 that I had bought previously. If I sz up to 34", I am afraid that it will turn up baggy especially at the seat already as it's already really loose. Could these jeans stretch to my waist sz? The Edo Ai that I had previously does not feel like it will stretch much compared to my Nudie RR. Any advice? Thanks

  8. Let's see here... on a recent day:

    left-to-right: Evisu 2000Z No.2, Lee 1937 101B, Samurai S5000VX, IronHeart 461, Dry Bones CDP-555 (Guitar Wolf edition), Yen 105, Samurai S510XX-AI, Lee 1952 101Z

Those 501XX-AI are really nice.read from the Samurai wedsite that it's dyed 24 times and there are only 250 pairs produced right? Must have cost a bomb but the colour is really impressive.

  9. Hi all,

this is EDO Ai dyed in mixed natural and chemical Indigo. It's different from the Premium Edo Ai dyed in 100% natural Indigo. The design is different too. I do not know how you guys feel but I prefer this pair to the Premium one. I am just looking to sell this off to raise $ for another pair in bigger sz.

  10. I had a pair of Sugar cane Edo Ai SC40501A (one wash) SZ 32 for sale. I had just recived it from a friend who bought it in Japan for me. Sz is too small for me. Willing to let go at US$210 + shipping.

To see the picture of this, use the attached link as I had also listed it on ebay. I am from Singapore and the buyer would have to contact me on shipping charges. I only accept paypal.
