  1. i can attest to rag & bone's quality--i don't have a store that sells rag & bone near me, but i got to try on a pair of RB1 awhile back, and they are incredibly comfortable. their lined waistband is almost decadent, and their variety of cuts is excellent.

they receive much more attention on Styleforum, as does 5EP. no idea why, really.

Perhaps a little more love of the domestic over there, though I'm not sure why that'd be the case. As poly said, SuFu mostly talks about contrasty jeans.. RB/5EP do not show wear exceptionally quickly.

  2. Uh oh, looks like you guys better have the administrator disable all these guys accounts like you had them do to mine for giving their HONEST OPINIONS. And big thanks to AYN for giving me negative rep for my original post "Dope jeans, but way overpriced."

And another big thanks to KIYA for taking my confidential email and reposting it in this thread. Too bad you didn't post the other emails I sent you about how I thought your jeans were very cool. Guess I won't be buying anymore Nudie Jeans off your site... I hope for the sake of your business that you're a lot more discreet with your customers personal information than you are with mine. Good luck to you all, I'm assuming you'll probably get all your buddies to me more negative rep for this post and have my account disabled again, but sometimes you just gotta say fuck it and say what's on your mind. Like I started out my original post "DOPE JEANS", yes I like them and I think they're cool. Peace.

    Repped! ;)

I'm digging the jeans, quite a bit.. and 400 dollars while expensive, is to be expected of a limited edition run of jeans. Shame the 21cm fit isn't for me, or I'd be on a pair myself.

  3. I recently sold a pair of RB6b. I had them for approximately a year, and saw VERY LITTLE fading. They were fantastic jeans, but I was looking for more contrast. I just ordered a pair of S5000BKs to replace them.

  4. I just ordered the S5000BK. Wish me luck.

    I'm also a 36.

To give you an idea of what fits me.. I currently have (all in a 36):

    45RPM Nando x Nando

    5EP LDB

    RRDS

    Baggy Bjorns

    Sugar Cane Hawaiis

I had the RB6 and they worked as well. I don't know what your frame of reference is, and I can follow up to tell you if the S5000 works for bigger guys.

  5. I can't see myself buying any shoes that doesn't have a genuine, hard leather sole. All these nice shoes with a vibram sole below them, it makes me...scared. Scared and disgusted. Those vibram soles are repugnant in every way possible. To that, someone might say "but you can't see the sole when you're wearing them". To that I say - "The soul of the sole is always present in my mind when wearing any shoe". Plus, the sound of it. Who wants shoes that doesn't give you that amazing, satisfactory *CLICK* when walking in them? I can't understand that, at all. Am I in some way unique in feeling this way?

Rubber soles have their place. Try walking on ice in leather-soled shoes. ;)

  6. hahaha i still haven't the technology to photograph my ovaries.

and really, it's a figure of speech - the jeans are not high rise enough to reach where my ovaries should be.

really, the charm of breaking in your own jeans instead of buying them comfy is in part the joy of subordinating a stubborn fabric to your own body, and building a beautiful relationship in the process. of course the irony is that most of us realise soon enough that we are slaves to our denim instead of the other way around. heh.

You realize that this line of thought leans more sadomasochistic than it does denim dilettante. You don't have to pain yourself to break in a pair of jeans. You can buy jeans that are extremely fitted that are your size and fit your body type - I'd like to believe that hurting yourself was not a part of the house's idea of "personalized experience."

    jm2c.

  7. damn, know any excuses how to not make your parents wash your denim? my mom keeps saying, i never see you wash your jeans, are you gonna wear them till they turn sour? and she thinks im an idiot when i say i dont want to wash them so i can get good fades.

    Move out.

  8. Tailors can work on jeans, usually, within a range of about 1-2".

If you don't have faith in your tailor, I wouldn't give him your jeans. They're not trousers; they're a little harder to alter.

On the APCs, I suspect you've already boiling-hot-soaked for an extended period of time?

  9. After my black pair (S5000BK), I'm done for the foreseeable future (read: at least 2 years).

    Reasons?

    - Nudie Regular Ralf Dry Selvage

    - Nudie Baggy Bjorn

    - 45 RPM Nando x Nando

    - 5EP Low Down Boot

    - SugarCane SC40400N

    - Oni Shoai

Just sold my Rag & Bone RB6.b, hence the need for a new pair.

Before I lie to myself.. I might also pick up the 5EPxSF jean, just because.
