  1. hi!

sure the early collections are even better than the actually

    i have 555: 551ZXX! the best one , Type 2 jacket, 2x 501XX 1955, a finished S501XX 1944, and a death valley 1890

i dont like the 20s 201 really - for me the 1937s are better - a little bit more closely cut

    denim makes me poor ;+)

  2. the tab is gone ... i have also seen japan-repro's without the circle r ! this is a original: patina on the rivet's, no numbers, it feels old, it's from ebay.com ... the best thing is: the leather patch is soft and unbroken - i love this jean :+)

  3. i won this auction: 200057734838 and i don't know: is it a real vintage or a repro ?

they had redline and no belt loops - it can be a 1917 model from japan !? know's anybody the 1917's ?

lynn from levi's says: the buckle is wrong for a real vintage levi's.

    please help

    regards MIKe

  4. sure ! your 1886's are very great ! i know i'm a loser ... i also like the "washed" jeans

the bunkhouse is my fav. for this year

wear your 1886's 20 years and they look better with every year - they are hard to find i know!

my dream is a vintage pair of levi's from before 1900 ......... ;+(

my oldest pair is from 1930's with buckleback - i love + wear it !!!!!!!!!!!

  5. No it is not. THe oldest jeans that Levi's own are the Nevada jeans, which have the pliers poclet. THese are n 'imaginative reconstruction' of that, and certainly aren't of an older design - things like the watch pockets, and the lack of a pliers pocket, are taken from later models. Really, they're more of a loose 1890s replica...

    thank you!

    this is new for me

i have ordered your book :+)

i had a nevada last year and i like the arcuate ! now i have a 1886 cra with the same style of stiching - i love it ! it's a good nevada alternative

the patch was in the middle up to 1890 and than on the right side ?

the 1879 has the patch on the right side... ?

do you have pics from the calico-jean ? which year it is ?

    regards

  6. hi paul!

at first my english is not the best please excuse...

i have seen japanese repros without the circle r on the red tab ! please look here

    http://www.rakuten.co.jp/super-rag/427211/543813/

i think in 50 years it's hard to differentiate is it a heavy-used repro from 2005 or a original

what is the ultimate feature to differentiate ?? there are also repro's without number on the top button (i have see a 1955 modell) and there are originals without numbers ... there must be a "ultimate" feature/detail a stiching or anything else to differentiate

    thank you very much !

    regards from germany

  7. hi!

    thank you very much !

yes this is the right jacket ! mostly i like levi's ... but this is a must have i think !

    and a original is impossible ! a store in berlin/germany has a higher price (250euro around 300$!!!!)

    bye
