  1. I was taking my wallet out of the back pocket of my Mr. Freedom Dungarees earlier today and I felt something give. The threading at the top 1/2 inch of the seem between my back-right pocket and the rest of the leg tore and the small 1/4 inch of overlap is now able to come out of the crease it fits into.

I don't have a camera so I'm unable to post a picture. I don't have a machine, nor do I trust myself or those that I know to fix this pair of jeans. I know that this is going to get worse because I have not been able to stop at home yet today and the threading has worsened from 1/4 inch lost to 1/2 inch lost.

Does this sound like a standard repair that any ma' and pa' store could fix or should this be sent into SE/Denim Doctor?

  2. Alas, I have no camera to show the items in action...

That said, I'm pretty proud of the finds I've cop'd in the past year.

    Caulfield Preparatory Shawl:

Picked this up a month after it was released for $30. I've received more compliments on this sweater than anything else that I own.

    Mister Freedom Dungarees:

Picked these up yesterday morning for $50, tags still attached. I'm really not sure how this item showed up at the thrift, with tags, but the details check out with selvedge on the waistband and markings. Soaked earlier today and still wearing the hell out of them, the fit is fantastic.

I was also able to pick up a pair of April 77 CrossWar in raw 29's a couple months back for $30. They're pitch-black and gonna stay that way, but they fit amazingly. Pretty useful for going to concerts.

  3. That's one heck of a find! Perhaps more telling about its authenticity is where you find the selvedge and the quality of the pocket lining. Below is a picture of mine.

If the details are that good, you've got yourself a great pair of dungarees no matter who you think may have made them.

Thanks! I've had some amazing luck at that thrift... found a few items from Caulfield Preparatory a month after release for 1/10th the price in my size, as well as a pair of Allen Edmond shoes on the cheap.

The details match what I have exactly, with the waistband selvedge and pocket stitching. Thank you for your help! Going to give them a good soak tomorrow and where the hell out of them. :)

  4. ^Woah. Take a look on the Self Edge site and compare yours. What size did you find? They are not sanforized.

I've taken a look through that page and through Google images, but can never obtain a clear shot of the seams inside the leg on the Dungarees.

The pair I picked up are 28's. I'm a little hesitant to soak them, might shrink just a tad too much to be wearable. Are there any alternatives to this?

  5. So, I just picked up a pair of MFSC Dungarees at the local thrift store for $50. I'm not sure how this happened, so I'm still a little skeptical that they're not fakes. There are still tags on the item stating that they use the 40770N pattern, stating a limited edition. I'd post a picture, but I'm without a camera for the time being.

For those of you that have taken a good look at the Dungarees, is the selvedge stitching stitched back into the pant leg, instead of spreading out from the seams?

Edit: Would these jeans be sanforized? I'm having difficulty finding this out with the help of SF and google.
