is cloak having some sort of a sale because the nyc store is closing?

alot of people mention checking out odin, nom de guerre, opening ceremony, barneys etc etc... all are fairly common new york city shopping answers...atleast amongst these boards and many others...

however, I was wondering what might be some of the less popular and unknown shops? not due to being bad, or carrying bad labels, but more perhaps because of their location, or attempt to stay lowkey (like opening ceremony and nom de guerre, but they're fairly well known by now). I just want to check out something new upon my visit next week.

i found on expedia that they have a 5night deal (which is how long we're staying) that comes out to $203CDN per night for a Standard Queen room.

out of curiosity, just how small would you say the rooms are compared to reviews? for example, I'm 6'2 and people are saying that the bathrooms require you to be 5'8 or shorter. true or false? or did you stay in a superior room? technically the queen superior is $250CDN a night instead for 70 square feet more..but I'm not sure if its worth it or not.

I'm planning on going to NYC around the end of June with my girlfriend and we thought the Hudson Hotel looked really nice. Upon reading up online the reviews really have gone in both the good and the bad, and I can't seem to find a side it really swings towards..so I was wondering if anyone here had any experiences/knowledge about the place?

I was also looking at Hotel on Rivington too...except it seems just slightly over what we're willing to pay..which would be $300 a night (Hudson was 279).

Unless anywhere here knows of any promo codes for either hotel? Regardless, any opinions about either place (but mainly Hudson, since I'm not sure if Rivington is too pricey for me at the moment) are appreciated.

what is the difference in fit between the californias and the detroits? I'm guessing detroits have a looser cut, but are they significantly looser? bootcut?

I love the fit of my APC NS (size 33)...so how would you compare them to those?

minya, just a heads up though, if you end up trying to order them online, size down. I'm normally a size 12(11 in cons though)..and the size 11s were still too big...size 10 is justttttttt abit tight, but they should stretch out, as its nothing brutal.

god those Kim Jones sneaks are hot -- are those new? Or old?

I think they're from the fall/winter collection. I saw them at Opening Ceremony when I went to New York City last week, but I didn't get them. Totally regretted it, then found the one store in Montreal to carry that line and picked them up today. I know you can get them online at www.shotgun.tv though...I just wanted them right now.

you're like my raw denim hero. it makes me want to get some so badly.

although, looking through threads, i haven't found the answer to (mainly because with some threads being over 20-30pages, i won't read EVERY word of EVERY post) how should you store/hang your dry denim? like say it's the end of the day, i'm about to go to sleep..I can't just toss them to the floor can I? because then won't that stiffen then in that position? same if I put them over a hanger folded.
