I've only recently moved out of home and haven't had much experience buying my own furnishings. I'd like to purchase a new duvet cover and table lamp. Looking for something classic/stylish for the lamp at a decent/cheap price point. It doesn't have to be of the utmost quality and could be second hand/vintage. Any reccomendations? I'm in the UK so there is the option of Habitat/Ikea.

Are there any websites that I can look over for ideas on how to furnish my bedroom? (I recall a blog about design products for the home that I came across a while back, anything like that would be fantastic) I like classic and understated. The walls are all white and I have laminate flooring so currently it looks quite bare and if I get a white duvet cover it may look like a mental asylum! I want to inject some life into the room while still remaining pared down.

Ideas/suggestions more than welcome

Tweedles, I'm anal retentive sometimes and I just dislike double gold stitching, 1 navy, 1 gold suits me perfectly. If there was double gold stitching it would make me not purchase a pair!

More importantly, anyone that has ordered from the APC site recently please let me know if it has double gold stitching or 1 navy and 1 gold, thanks!

I was about to purchase a pair of NS from the APC site when I zoomed in and noticed the double stitching (if that makes sense) on the inside leg. My brother has a pair, and there is also double stitching, however one is golden thread and the other is dark navy so it is not noticeable. I really don't like the idea of how they look on the site...

Any ideas if the picture on the APC site is outdated, or is this how the 'new' New Standards are now?!

Every time I look in this thread you repeat the same comment on near enough every page..... Its nice to be complimentary, but seeing the same comment day after day gets a little bland and unnecessary in my opinion.
